The Marcy MWB-36780b starter bench and weight set gives you the essentials to begin weight training at home. It includes a bench with rack, bar, weight plates, and clips. You'll have everything needed to start lifting without buying items separately. The bench adjusts to flat and incline positions. That means you can target different muscle groups effectively. Butterfly arms add chest training options. The fixed rack keeps things stable during use.
This bench handles leg curls and arm exercises with dedicated attachments. The leg curl pad feels natural during movement. There's a removable arm curl pad with two height settings. Does the trick. Although I used my own bar as the one provided is not very long and forces you to hold the bar at the points where the stand is when returning the bar. Would recommend a longer bar

Missing pieces
Weight bench came with wrong bar wasn't 5ft as stated was told would be replaced and asked to send a photo and heard nothing back

Came battered. Holes In the weights n frame
The frame is scratched to within an Inch of its life. Holes In the weights. Delivery was an absolute joke too.

Not the best budget set.
This bench is ok but not great. The uprights are shoulder width apart and the dumbbell bar is quite short so when placing it back in uprights your hands tend to be positioned exactly where it needs to land so a few nips. The preacher curl pad cushioning is quite thin and this makes for quite painful elbows during exercise. Dropped a dumbbell and outer plastic broke exposing cement fill. Seems robust enough and easy to put together.

I have checked and this does not state a maximum height within the manual. It does mention the following regarding weight capacity however:
Maximum weight capacity on the uprights: 200 lbs.
Maximum user’s weight: 300 lbs.
Maximum weight capacity on the leg developer: 100 lbs

For the bench, the maximum weight is 90kg on the rack, so any size barbell will suit with 1” or 2” weights, as long as the weight does not exceed the rack’s maximum weight.
The barbell that comes with the item can only hold a maximum of 45kg weights, and the weights that come with it are not sold separately, but any 1” weight plates can go on this as long as they do not exceed the limit.

The butterfly arms are not designed to be removed.
They are only held on by a bolt and nut and if the customer wanted to keep them off then they could and still use the bench safely.

Hi Steve, thank you for your enquiry. We don't recommend using this bench as a squat rack due to the rack height been so low for squats. We do have a bench with a dedicated rear squat rack, we recommend the MD 867 Diamond Elite Bench for this purpose. We hope this helps.
