Not their best camera
I wasn't happy with this particular camera. It was fairly buggy, the picture was poor, colour nightmode only works with the light on otherwise standard nightmode is poor quality. I returned and replaced with a tapo c500 which is substantially cheaper, does everything this one does except much better quality, more compact design, the light is discreet not bulky and easier to use.

Great outdoor camera
I reviewed several outdoor wifi cameras and this came out as best overall based on my needs which was to observe and record the front of my house in addition to having very bright led lights with motion detection. As I have a number of other TP-Link devices I can control and manage them all with just one App. So far the camera is working well although I do get more motion alerts than needed despite reducing the motion sensitivity within the app. However, this is a just minor complaint as I inserted sufficient memory to record tons of video.

Tapo C720 Smart Floodlight Camera – First Look
I’ve just started setting up the Tapo C720. It’s not installed yet as I’m waiting on a few parts, but I’ve tested the main features. It looks great so far. The video is really sharp. The floodlights are very bright and adjustable. The app on iPhone is easy to use. I like the AI detection. It can tell the difference between people, cars and animals. The camera feels solid and well made. It comes with all the screws, a mounting plate and a paper guide for drilling. It’s wired, so you’ll need a power connection. If you’re handy with DIY, it looks simple enough. Early signs are very good. Looking forward to getting it fully set up soon.

Easy set up, great quality
We didn’t have an established supply for a floodlight but we were able to get this sorted and once we did the install was super quick and easy. The picture quality is great and easy to adjust positions and how much it picks up (e.g human only). The app that goes along with it is really helpful too in being able to make amendments and turn it off or on.

An absolutely first class piece of kit. Provides a good spread of light and offers the added security of being able to actually see what is going on and presents a very visual deterrent. Fully adjustable and full colour images day and night. Even the packaging is environmentally friendly!

The best flood light and camera I have used. Unbelievably easy to set up via the app. The camera is wired so may need help with that. The flood lights are so bright. The AI detection on the camera is a brilliant feature as it can distinguish between animals, people etc. Highly recommend this smart item, I will be getting other Tapo devices now.

Feels safe and works well
Really happy with this camera. It was easy to set up using the app and I got it up and running pretty quickly. The picture quality is really good, even at night, and the light is bright enough to cover most of my driveway. I like how it sends alerts when it spots movement, and it’s smart enough that it doesn’t go off for every little thing. The app is simple to use and lets me see what’s going on when I’m not home, which gives me peace of mind. Overall, it feels solid and reliable, and I think it’s really good value for the money. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a security camera with a light.
