It's a smart smart switch.
I recently replaced the ageing NAS I use to store my large collection of music audio and video files. This necessitated the transfer of several terabytes of files from the old device to the new one via Ethernet, so I needed a switch capable of handling both devices. This one was available locally at Argos in Sainsburys store and was available to collect the following day. Initial tests were disappointing as it was faster to transfer the data via wifi, but after some head scratching I realised that my Ethernet connection was running very slowly and the reason proved to be a problem with the cable connecting the switch to the modem. Frankly it should have been obvious what the problem was as the smart switch LEDs showed the connection was slow, but I hadn't appreciated that the cable was the issue. I changed it for a CAT7 cable I had lying around and the performance was transformed. The switch just did exactly what was required of it and for less than £20 a bargain.
