I had a timex before this watch and I could hear it on my wrist in bed,this casio i hear nothing, only way to hear it is to press it against your ear ,and you can hear a faint tick.

The entire strap is 25cm long but it will fit a wrist size of approximately 15.5cm to 22.5cm.

So it would depend on the size of the 11 yr old boy!

The spring bar is 16 mm, so 16 mm strap needed for this watch.

Please note that the width is 18mm but the width of the strap where it links to the shoulder of the watch face is 20mm to fit the connection.
