About this product
The SMARTCHARGE 8 from Ring Automotive features an efficient nine-stage charging cycle and supports 12V and 24V batteries including Lithium-Ion. Its compact design, clear display, and intelligent one-touch operation make it ideal for maintaining cars, motorcycles, and caravans. Built with safety in mind, it includes polarity and short circuit protection and an IP65 weather-resistant design. Easy-to-use crocodile clips, a hanging hook, and o-ring connectors provide convenience without detaching the battery.

The charger works really well if your battery it totally flat it will fully charge it in about 4 hours.

I have used this charger several times since purchase. I find the display screen easy to read. The hanger is useful. The power lead is of a useful length.

Most definitely will recommend
I was able to get a really sufficient charge on my car. It hasn’t died since and it is such a useful tool. I haven’t tried it for jump starting but seems like it will work just fine for it as well. I really am happy with the product would definitely recommend. I like that it uses a normal charger to charge and doesn’t take very long and also lasts quite a while even after charging a whole battery

Instruction booklet is useless but product okay
I found this tricky to use, I have no car know how so was going at it blind. I didn’t really understand the instruction booklet. I found the diagrams difficult to follow, added text would have helped. The product itself was effective and did what I needed it to. I have a Renault Kaptur and it was sufficient to get the battery going.

Decent!!
Really impressed with this. Decent enough size to keep in the boot and strong enough to charge the battery in a reasonable amount of time. It’s very easy to use and isn’t heavy. Seems good enough quality to be robust enough to throw around a bit too!

Hello Marty.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Ring Smartcharge8 12/24v Smart Battery Charger.
The charger needs to see a minimum of about 3 Volts on the battery.
I don’t think it would be suitable if the battery is completely flat.
