Made a dreadful mess and is dangerous
I bought this to replace an electric rice cooker that I had for many years, but unfortunately gave away when I downsized. So I am completely familiar with using a basic cooker like this. Unfortunately this one was a total disaster, I used the minimum amount of water (2) but within minutes it had boiled up and all over everything, the splashing from the large vent hole in the lid covered everything else on my work top, ( it made a terrible, difficult to clean, mess) but the water running down the outside of the cooker is, I consider, really dangerous. Of course with most of the water outside the cooker instead of inside cooking the rice, the rice wasn't cooked either. This model is rated 500w, other rice cookers are 300- 350w, (I checked after this episode), all I can think is that the heat is too fierce when cooking the minimum amount. I'm reluctant to try it again with a larger amount of rice and water, to test this theory as I'm worried about the cable socket having been wet. Also, for anyone with limited space, this is as large as a large slow cooker. Actually my tiny, single portion slow cooker at 100w cooks rice much better and much more efficiently than this cookworks rice cooker. I'm really disappointed as I truly missed my trusty old generic rice cooker!.

perfect rice!
Easy to use, just measure and rinse the rice, pop it in with the requirred amount of water and turn it on. It makes perfect rice. The only "problem" (if you can call it that) is that the minimum amount it makes is way too much for 1 person, so I have to make several portions and then refrigerate or freeze them - not a huge issue though!

Cooks okay
It would be five stars for cooking rice, but this was a replacement after the first stopped working after only 7 months.

Inconsistent quality, get the insurance
Used it for a bit and then had to get a replacement. Thankfully I had paid for the insurance when I bought it. Was easy enough to get the replacement.
