Simple but effective
Very simple basic rice cooker that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The vent hole is quite large but if you wash your rice thoroughly before cooking you don’t get starch splatter.

Does what it say on the tin
Does what it’s supposed to. Cooks the rice well without the mess of using a hob. You just need to get the ratio of rice to water right. I’m happy with it. I can just switch it on and get on with things without worrying about it burning or having to check it. I’m really happy with my purchase.

Hello there,
The Cookworks 1.5L Rice Cooker - Black doesn't switch off completely automatically. Once the rice is cooked, it changes to keep warm and the warming indicator lights up.
You'll need to switch it off manually. For food safety, rice shouldn't be kept warm for longer than 2 hours.

The instruction manual states:
''Rice cooking tips
* Rice is a natural product and the results will vary depending on

* Follow the ratio of rice:water advised on the rice packaging.
* For fluffier rice, add a little extra water and for firmer rice add a
little less.
* This rice cooker is best suited to cooking white rice. If using rice
varieties with longer cooking times (e.g. brown rice) add extra
water at the start to prolong the cooking time.
* Some rice may benefit from stirring towards the end of their
cooking time to prevent burning.''
If the rice is ready before you are, simply hit the cooker's keep warm function.
