It's a rice cooker. It cooks rice. I've used fancier, more expensive ones before and this one is just as good for the basics. Doesn't come with a steamer basket but I imagine you could insert one.

This rice cooker is best suited to cooking white rice. If using rice
varieties with longer cooking times (e.g. brown rice) add extra
water at the start to prolong the cooking time. Some rice may benefit from stirring towards the end of their
cooking time to prevent burning.
