I previously had a Sebo upright for many years but needed something more easy to manoeuvre and get to tricky areas. Also needed a good quality vacuum so decided to choose the Miele Guard L1 Cat & Dog and what a great vacuum it is! So much easier to move around and like the different suction modes especially when cleaning curtains and upholstery. It is great for pet hair too, having two cats this vacuum helps keep the house pet hair free. I also got x4 free bags when I registered the product guarantee and £10 voucher to spend on Miele website. Great vacuum and would recommend.

So many reasons to buy!

I absolutely love this hoover. It is such a modern, sleek design and the soft touch buttons make switching modes a dream! You can tap for different surfaces from sofas to carpet to hard floors with different strength suctions for each. The one touch plug button brings the whole lead back into the hoover in one swift movement. It is super lightweight so also great for doing the stairs and stores away neatly standing up with the handle attachment clipped to the back. Best hoover I’ve ever owned!

Great vacuum, especially for those with pets!

Really liked this product. Easy to put together straight out of the box with hose, pole and various attachments. There are 4 levels of suction which can be changed using the buttons on the front of the hoover, as well as a button to collect up the cord. I found this great at collecting dog hair, and found that even after using my usual vacuum, I still managed to collect more hair using this vacuum - it’s got great suction. I particularly liked it for vacuuming my sofa and furnishings. I found it really easy to move the vacuum around with the carry handle, and all attachments are extremely easy to connect. I’d recommend this to others.

Great for Carpet and Hard Floors

Have used this vacuum multiple times on both household and car flooring. Unit is very well manufactured and easy to put together out the box. Vacuum is sturdy with a great suction and multiple levels of power available. There is a holding hook for the lance and a little compartment in the unit to store attachments. Changing the bag is an easy operation of just in and out. Overall I’m really pleased with this and would recommend to a friend. Only a couple of negative points I could think of is the ability to hoover a car. The handheld pole is not very flexible making getting in to tight spaces difficult. The attachments provided are dual use making them very bulky when attached. I’d rather multiple seperate attachments

Superb and super clean

As a pet owner it sometimes can be a daily battle against fur, since using this vacuum I have never known my carpets and floors to feel so clean ! The suction power is something else , I really feel like it gets down deep into my carpets. Setting up the vacuum was easy to follow with the instructions , from opening the box and piecing everything up I could feel how much quality is in this product. The settings are easy to select, I find that I can get to those hard to reach places better. One thing for me is it can be a little bit weighty / unsturdy on the stairs I can’t just prop it down I have to hold it safely and that was my only little issue. The suction power can also make it a bit of a work out the highest setting. I really like the lighter settings for furniture and fabrics. Overall a little getting use to but as a pet owner I highly recommend

Superb on animal hair!

A very sleek design and colour makes this vacuum instantly a win. In the box came an extra head I assume for hard floors. The plug winds itself inside with one of the front buttons and is then hidden by a push press door. Also hidden behind a door to the bottom is an additional attachment. Upright part can be clipped to the main body in two places and there’s a brush head already attached to the ergonomic handle. This vacuum was phenomenal at getting the rabbit hair out of my rug, much better than another brand that I previously tried. Does exactly what is says it will do in a pretty package!

Good quality Vacuum

The Miele Guard L1 Cat & Dog Pet Cylinder Corded Vacuum Cleaner is good quality well built vacuum cleaner, but with a few downsides. It’s relatively easy to put together, out of the box you have the hose, handle with brush attachment, pole, and 2 brush heads, one for carpet and one for hard floors with retractable brush bars. Simply attach one end of the hose to the vac and the other to the handle, then attach the pole and desired floor head and you’re good to go. The vac has an active air clean filter to help reduce pet smells and 4 levels of suction depending on usage. Weighing in at 6.4kg it’s light and nimble enough for most people to manoeuvre depending on settings used. The hose is a good length at 2.2 meters and the pole is adjustable making it easy find a comfortable position and has a 8.5 meter foot operated retractable power cord. The dustbin has a 3.5 litre capacity so shouldn’t need replacing that regularly. The vac comes with a 2 year manufacturers warranty which needs to be activated using the provided QR code or by telephone. There’s no doubt that this very high quality vacuum with some good features, but, it does have some issues which leave me scratching my head as to who this vacuum is really for. Firstly, the brush bar floor attachment isn’t powered, it rely’s on the suction of the vac to spin it, so if you use on thick pile carpets it tends to bog down and not spin, so you reduce the power level down but then it doesn’t pick up dirt properly, you can switch to the other floor attachment but then you have crank up the power and it’s then too powerful and extremely difficult to push around. It is however very good on low pile or loop pile carpets. On vinyl flooring you also have to reduce the power or it can end up practically sucking the flooring up, again making it difficult to push around but reducing the power doesn’t pick up as well, this not an issue with wooden flooring and it works really well on those. Oddly, the handle has the dusting brush attached to it so can be difficult to get to hard to reach areas, it would have been much better if this could be attached to the end of the pole. I do like the combined upholstery and crevice tool, this works really well. So to summarise, the vac works incredibly well for certain uses, but not for others..

Amazing quality

Been searching for a pet vacuum for a while and I absolutely love it. It come as with 2 floor heads so you can swap from rotating to standard and a dusting brush. You can also alter the power levels and it has furniture feature. It's not to heavy so easy to take up and downstairs. You can adjust the height of the hoze part and theres a hidden compartment with another attachment. I'm so pleased with the quality of this and finally I've managed to get that stubborn dog hair out of the carpets! And plus it looks great.

Great for pet owners

The Miele Guard L1 Cat & Dog is perfect for pet owners. We have a short haired cat who loses fur twice a year. She can also leave fur on bedding etc if she’s been sleeping on it. This is perfect for picking up pet fur that others have not budged. I use it on ‘Max’ and honestly my carpets look so much cleaner than when I use my regular vacuum cleaner. It comes with a bag but I also ordered 5 free ones with the leaflet inside and so far so good. I’m still on the first bag. The hoover is corded but it’s so lightweight so it’s easy for it to follow along behind you. It comes with pet tool, crevice nozzle, upholstery nozzle, dusting brush, turbo brush and combination floor nozzle. There are 4 levels of power which you can easily switch between using the control panel. Overall, it’s a great vacuum cleaner for pet owners.
