Love it.
I had a cooler bag and the strap broke. Found this replacement in Argos. Brilliant. Better than original more room, more comfortable and durable. Would recommend.

Bad. Not insulating.
Bad… just bad. I don’t know how people think this is insulating. It’s worse than nothing somehow. My ice packs melted within an hour on a cool spring day. Threads are coming off in under a year.

Roomy and versatile
Bought this for a full day walking football tournament. Excellent for ease of carrying, backpack style perfect and will definitely use it for long walks and days out with grandchildren. Pockets inside for holding ice blocks very helpful - doesn’t come with ice blocks but we already had some. Extra storage in top and external pockets too. Roomy and versatile, very pleased 😀

Great Cool Bag
Used this a couple of times already for days out. Put 4 thin ice blocks in it and put our food etc into the bag straight from the fridge. The bag then kept our bottles of water and food lovely and chilled all day. We squeezed in 2 x 2 litre bottles of water, 8 rolls, a share bag of crisps, sun lotion, purse and car keys. Also felt very comfortable walking around with it on my back. Very happy with my purchase 😀

Excellent wee bag
Used this constantly whilst on holiday to keep food and drinks cold when out and about. With 3 iceblocks it kept our food and drink cold all day. Bag was comfy to wear. Very pleased with it.

Excellent product
Bought this to keep food cold in my machine whist at work. Seems very good so far. Ice packs still partially frozen even after 10 hours (and in this weather) so no complaints. Plenty of room inside and has various compartments (inside and out) so ticks all the boxes. Zips feel strong and seems to be durable so far. For the price I'd recommend this product.

Hello LM,
Thank you for reaching out to our Q&A service regarding the Decathlon Isothermal 20L Cooler Backpack (NH100).
To answer your question, the backpack does not have entirely separate, closed-off compartments specifically for ice packs. However, it does feature internal organization to manage them effectively:
- Ice Pack Placement: Inside the main insulated compartment, there are designated elasticated straps (marked with a snowflake logo) designed to hold freezer blocks upright against the sides. This prevents them from sliding around and crushing your food.
- Separation from Dry Goods: There is a completely separate zipped pocket on the outside of the backpack. Please note that this is a non-insulated dry pocket intended for personal items like your phone, wallet, or keys, rather than ice packs.
Ice Pack Size Compatibility:
- Ideal Fit: The internal elasticated straps are flexible but optimized for standard, medium-sized slim ice packs. Packs measuring roughly 16.5 cm x 9 cm x 2.5 cm (such as the standard Decathlon Quechua 175g Ice Packs) fit perfectly.
- Large Blocks: Large, rigid 1kg ice blocks will be too wide for the side straps. If you use larger blocks or soft gel packs, we recommend placing them loose at the bottom of the bag before loading your food for maximum cooling efficiency.
Important Note: The inside of this backpack is not 100% waterproof and does not have welded seams to hold pooling liquid. Please always use sealed ice packs or gel packs, and avoid putting loose ice cubes directly into the bag to prevent water from seeping through the seams.

Hello Mike,
Yes, it will keep drinks cold without an ice pack, but only for about 5 hours. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Jayjay,
To keep items cold safely without leaks, Decathlon recommends using ice packs or frozen water bottles rather than loose ice cubes. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Nelly,
Regarding your inquiry, the Decathlon Ice Backpack Cooler 20L relies on a thick layer of 100% Polyethylene (PE) foam for its thermal insulation.
Here is the exact structural material breakdown:
- Insulation (Core): 100% Polyethylene Foam. This lightweight layer traps air to prevent heat transfer, keeping contents fresh for up to 7 hours without an ice pack.
- Main Fabric & Inner Lining: 100% Polyester.
- Coating: 100% Polyurethane (applied to fabrics for enhanced water resistance and durability).
Quick Tip: While the foam is highly efficient, the interior lining of this specific model is not 100% waterproof. To prevent melted ice from seeping through the seams, we recommend using sealed ice packs or gel blocks rather than loose ice cubes.

Hello Hettie,
No, this product is not suitable for machine wash. We recommend to hand wash it with a maximum temperature of 40°C. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello MW,
This backpack is not waterproof. The isothermal lining helps to retain cool temperatures but does not prevent water ingress. Therefore, once the ice packs melt and the internal temperature rises, any condensation or liquid from the melting ice could potentially leak out of the backpack. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Ak,
Because cans aren’t perfectly shaped to fill all spaces, a realistic number is around 30/35 cans. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Chuck,
Yes, this backpack cooler can hold ice packs, not loose ice cubes. Without ice, the backpack can keep food fresh for 7 hour. With a 1.2 kg ice pack added, the time extends to approximately 10 hours. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Naomi,
