About this product
Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures. Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armour to fend off the dangerous mobs.
You don't have to explore or build alone though – up to eight 'crafters can play together online*, while four can join each other in local multiplayer on the TV or in tabletop mode, supporting both split-screen and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (sold separately).
Nintendo and Minecraft fans alike will also be happy to learn that the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack is included too. Play and explore a world full of classic characters and places from the Mario universe! The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack includes 40 new Super Mario-themed skins, which transform the game's characters into familiar heroes like Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach, and even troublemakers like Bowser, Wario and all seven of Bowser's minions.
All the world and item textures in the game are also redone, providing you with the opportunity to create your own Super Mario-themed locations within the world of Minecraft. While building, you can even enjoy listening to the smooth sounds of 15 pieces of music from Super Mario 64. Builders of all ages will love crafting massive new worlds using building blocks inspired by a series as accessible and recognisable as Super Mario.

The Nintendo Switch Edition of Minecraft works like every other Bedrock Edition of Minecraft, except you need to pay for Nintendo Switch Online for local multiplayer and they block you from connecting to your own dedicated servers. Only Nintendo-sanctioned servers allowed.

Poor game on the switch - poor service from Argos
The game has really poor game play on the switch. We now have it on a tablet and it works much better. Also, when we tried to take it back to Argos because of the poor game play Argos refused to accept the return on the basis that there is nothing wrong with the game. Poor experience all round.
