This was a good but, I’m very happy with this product, boiling time is very quick and it visibly looks good in our kitchen. This kettle is also free from limescale, is light in weight and illuminates when boiling.

I bought this as a replacement for a Similar kettle that started leaking. I’m happy with this purchase, smaller than my previous kettle but we are not heavy tea drinkers. Specifically wanted one that is see-through so I can see when it needs cleaning. Illumination is a bonus.

On the spec sheet provided by an Argos Rep. it says it is 1850-2200 watts. So, it is a standard 2kw kettle, not a rapid boil kettle.

It is made of plastic not steel on the underside of, underneath, the lid.

I apologise for not being able to provide expert help, but my guess is because the plastic kettle has an element that sits in the water directly heating it whereas the glass kettle has a flat base, presumably with the element covered/partly insulated from the water
