Very sturdy extension cable with covered socket
Very sturdy wind around for cable. Great idea having a covered plug for safety outside, so it can be used safely in wetter weather. 15m of cable is enough for most areas in my garden. Also, I saw the same product in a well known DIY store for ÂŁ7 more than I paid at Argos.

Electrifying
After pricing the extension lead with other retailers I found Argos was pounds cheaper for exactly the same product. The quality is fantastic and it does do the job perfectly.
240 volt
Almost perfect
Seems sturdy enough, but one star off for coming with a moulded plug instead of the heavy duty plug pictured

Looks nice but not suitable for high power items
As others have said the plug lid doesn’t cover all types of plugs. Also I bought this as an extension lead to charge an EV and the plug and cable around the plug got warm. The cable itself is quite slim so be aware if you’re extending high power items.

Hi Clubbear, thank you for your enquiry.
As per the 3rd infographic (4th image) on this listing the socket is rated IP54.
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hi Dave, thank you for your enquiry.
Many hot-tub manufacturers specifically forbid the use of extension leads with their products, or put a cable core size requirement on any extension which is not found in any currently produced, so we would advise checking the supplied manual for any specific prohibitions or requirements.
Presuming there aren't any this extension is rated for a maximum peak power flow of 13A (3,120W / 3.12kW) so as long as the hot-tub is below this (preferably 2.5kW or lower) it should be a suitable load.
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hi Simon, thank you for your enquiry.
This will depend on the actual power consumption of your Ninja BBQ model, the extension is rated for a maximum peak power flow of 13A (3,120W / 3.12kW) so as long as the BBQ is below this (preferably 2.5kW or lower) it should be a suitable load.
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hi Craigie, thank you for your enquiry.
If the Ryobi device(s) you are referring to feature a standard UK plug and draw less than 13A (3,120W / 3.12kW) then there shouldn't be any problem.
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hi Will, thank you for your enquiry.
All UK plugs are required to have a fuse in them, which provides overload protection (by blowing the fuse if there is a significant over-current draw from whatever is being powered through it).
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hello Lee,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Masterplug 1 Socket 15m Extension Lead: if you are referring to using a Mode 2 Electric Vehicle charger (rather than a more traditional 12V battery charger, which would be fine).
Current regulations require that any socket to be used in conjunction with a Mode 2 EV charger must be tested to the much more stringent /EV section of the standard (so BS 1363-2/EV) and marked as such or with the words "Suitable for Electric Vehicle Charging", neither of which has been done with this or any other extension lead which we're aware of (from any manufacturer).
So the answer base on the EV charging presumption, is a resounding NO.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Surfinbird, thank you for your enquiry.
This extension is rated for a maximum peak power flow of 13A (3,120W / 3.12kW).
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hello Chris.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Masterplug 1 Socket 15m Extension Lead.
No this product doesn't have a trip switch.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi Karl, thank you for your enquiry.
Online information varies on the potential power consumption of Bestway Swimming Pool Heaters, ranging from 275W to 2.8kW so we can only say that it would be potentially problematic to run a heating device at the higher end of this range on a domestic extension lead due to the length of time it would likely be running for at its upper consumption levels which could have a negative effect on the extension.
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
Hi MC, thank you for your enquiry.
According to information online the Ninja Pro XL Woodfire Barbeque consumes 1700-1800W (1.7-1.8kW) so shouldn't overload this 13A rated extension.
Hope this helps and thank you for your purchase.
