The weatherproof bell push works anywhere on your property. Hear callers from the garden or garage, up to 150 meters(open distance). Choose from 16 melodies and adjust volume. The portable unit runs on AA batteries; the plug-in chime connects to any UK socket. Installation is quick, just fix the remote push to your doorframe with included hardware. Bought to replace our old, worn out doorbell. Got it just before Christmas so ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ had to be the first tune used. It made our postie smile! The volume can be adjusted and the wireless unit can be taken to any room - including the garden during Summer - so you need never miss any callers or deliveries.

To change the melody you need the bell push button.
On the back (right above the battery) you will see a button if you press this button the melody will change.
Should it not work right away, re-pair the bell with the door pusher, now changing the melody will work.

The plugged unit does not have a battery The answer given by staff relates to door press

For the Byron DBY-22354BS Wireless Doorbell Kit, here are the steps to open the plugged unit and fit the battery:
Carefully press the catch with a small screwdriver in the recess at the bottom of the door push. This should release the cap.
Place the supplied button cell type CR2032 in the battery holder with the plus side facing up.
Once the battery is in place, put the cap back onto the mounting plate.
