Excellent product 10 year lifespan
This is the second one of these units I’ve bought to replace the old ones which are nearly 10 years old. £35 seemed a bit expensive but remember no messing about replacing batteries and it works out at only £3.50 per year.

Easy to set up for peace of mind
Bought this because of the 10 year battery life, tired of being woken up in the middle of the night by smoke detectors etc chirping away when the battery begins to run down. Very easy to set up.

Hi Katie
The supplier says "This productr has the following approvals -BSI certified to EN52091-1 CE tested and certified.
Our understanding is that they require a sealed in CO alarm. This model is a sealed in CO alarm.
Thanks for using Q & A
Dear Customer,
In answer to the first part of your question CO is slightly lighter than air so they are almost neutral.
A CO alarm is monitoring the air around it, so it needs to be between 1 metre and 3 metres away from a fuel burning appliance.
We recommend that you fit the alarm at eye level but at least 150mm away from the ceiling to avoid it being the 'dead-air' space. At eye level this does allow you to test the alarm easily but you can put it higher if you wish, just avoid the 'dead-air' space.
There are COs that are ceiling mounted but they are specifically designed to work that way so if you wanted a ceiling mounted alarm we do have one that is a combined Smoke and CO alarm.
I trust I have answered your question.
Kind regards
Kidde Safety Europe Ltd
Yes we recommend that you test the alarm each week and the manual explains how this needs to be done.
