Carbon monoxide alarm
Bought as replacement for alarm which we had 10yrs. Appears to be working as it should. (Hopefully it doesn't get activated š¬) complete with fitted battery.

Advised by Fire Station visitor.
Advised by Fire Station visitor to install a Carbon Monoxide alarm as well as smoke alarms. This iten looks to be suitable, not intrusive in appearance and straight forward to rest on a shelf or screw to a wall. Hope it is as effective as it looks if it detects carbom monoxide. Tests seemed to work OK.

The supplier has advised the following for the Kidde 10 Year Sealed-In Battery Carbon Monoxide Alarm:
"K10llco SKU 7004896, has instructions on the back of the alarm showing how to disable the alarm. It indicates where to slide the plastic tab on the alarm to deactivate. These instructions can also be found in the manual on page 15."

The supplier says "This productr has the following approvals -BSI certified to EN52091-1 CE tested and certified.
Our understanding is that they require a sealed in CO alarm. This model is a sealed in CO alarm.

Dear Customer,
In answer to the first part of your question CO is slightly lighter than air so they are almost neutral.
A CO alarm is monitoring the air around it, so it needs to be between 1 metre and 3 metres away from a fuel burning appliance.
We recommend that you fit the alarm at eye level but at least 150mm away from the ceiling to avoid it being the 'dead-air' space. At eye level this does allow you to test the alarm easily but you can put it higher if you wish, just avoid the 'dead-air' space.
There are COs that are ceiling mounted but they are specifically designed to work that way so if you wanted a ceiling mounted alarm we do have one that is a combined Smoke and CO alarm.
