Thanks for using Argos Q&A.
This Kidde Combined Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm needs to be wall or ceiling mounted. If your landlord is happy for you to do that, there is no reason why you could not use this in a rented holiday home in Spain.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A
The simple answer is yes
All our alarms have a flashing LED light as this is a requirement under the British Standards Regulations, this allows you to see visually that the alarm is working, so unfortunately you will find this on any other alarm that carries the BSI EN50291.
The alarm will not beep at regular intervals to indicate that it is working. Instead the alarm has green and red LED lights that indicate normal operation of the unit. The green light will flash every 30 seconds to show user that the alarm is working.
Thank you for using Q&A
The only CO alarm that we sell that is suitable for use in a caravan is a 7CO, this has been tested for use in Mobile homes and Caravans.
It is not tested for use in a caravan.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your message.
In the first instance can you tell me where the alarm is situated in relation to the kitchen where the toast was burnt?
The alarm that your daughter has is an optical smoke alarm and this works by the smoke entering the sensor chamber, and blocking the light beam inside, this will then send it into alarm.
Burning paper underneath will not normally set the alarm off as the smoke needs to reach the sensor chamber and the vents for this are around the back of the alarm. When there is a fire the smoke will go up and across the ceiling and then drop down into the vent which takes into the sensor chamber, the vent at the front is the sounder so smoke going into there will not cause the alarm to sound.
