About this product
Faulty gas boiler or old heater in the spare room? This carbon monoxide alarm alerts you if CO builds up from appliances around the home. The digital display shows you current CO levels at a glance and keeps a record of the highest reading. It sits freestanding on a shelf or mounts to the wall, and works in homes, caravans and boats. Runs on two AA batteries that come included, so you can set it up straight away. The test button lets you check it's working properly, and the sensor lasts ten years.
Compatible with most homes, caravans and boats where gas appliances are in use. The digital LCD screen displays CO levels continuously and stores the peak reading for your reference. Freestanding or wall-mounted installation keeps things simple. BSI certified to EN50291-12018 and CE tested for peace of mind. Two AA batteries included for immediate use.

Good Price and Good Company
I bought this a few weeks ago, when my last one failed. Kidde appears a good name in this area, and the internet suggested this was a particularly good model (for the price). Obviously, I won't know if it works correctly, unless we get a Carbon Monoxide leak!

Is it working?
We bought this because we have an open fire and have recently had more double glazing fitted so we’re concerned about our CO. Since we have had it it hasn’t shown any ppm and I’m doubtful that it is actually working as I previously worked in a school where the CO levels were monitored and they were always quite high! I’m not sure how to check that it’s working. I have held it in the fireplace but it still reads zero…..

Hope we never know whether it *really* works!
Easy to use, but obviously you've no idea how well it is really working unless something goes wrong. There are cheaper ones out there, but Kidde is a decent brand, and I prefer a readout so I can see any build up to an alarm.

Easy to set up, good digital display.
Wanted an extra Carbon Monoxide monitor downstairs. Liked the fact it has a digital read out. The alarm is quite loud on testing , so hopefully, should it ever go off it will alert me to the problem. You have to replace the batteries every 1-2 years but that’s not a problem.

Kidde Digital Readout Carbon Monoxide Alarm:
Having checked the instructions. Pressing the test/reset button will terminate the alarm. If the CO condition that caused the alert in the first place continues, the alarm will reactivate. If the unit alarms again within six minutes, it is sensing high levels of CO which can quickly become a dangerous situation. The cause of the CO would either need to be rectified or the alarm removed away from the area, to stop it sounding.

According to CO2meter.com, 9 ppm is the maximum indoor safe carbon monoxide level over 8 hours, so registering at 11 seems a bit late ?

The supplier has advised the following for the Kidde Digital Readout Carbon Monoxide Alarm:
"The digital display shows readings between 11-999." So, no it does not show a reading of 1ppm.

Without reading the manual, can’t be sure but first port of call would be to change the battery. If it doesn’t work it may be at the end of its life or a fault. If in doubt, look on their website that might have more info on that model if you no longer have the instructions.

These should not be installed in bathrooms as condensation can penetrate the alarm, cause false alarms and also cause it to not work.

Hello. I don’t think it is usually advisable to place a carbon monoxide alarm in humid environments where there is condensation like bathrooms and kitchens. So, in my opinion I would say no.
