About this product
Keep your children safe around the home. This Cuggl Extending Metal Wall Fix Safety Gate is versatile as it can be used for spaces measuring from 60-97cm wide. It fixes to the wall with screws which means there is no step over bar at the bottom. Adults can unlock it with one hand but there is a double locking feature to stop little ones opening it.
- If the safety barrier is used at the bottom of the stairs, it should be positioned at the front of the lowest tread possible. .
- The double-locking system is easy for an adult to operate and difficult for a child.
- Screw fit and firm installation, If the safety barrier is used at the top of the stairs, it should not be positioned below the top level. .
- The each bars width is around 55mm and there are 7 positions for extending. .

Very secure but fiddly to open
Positives: first and foremost, it is a secure and safe gate for the top of the stairs. My son leans on it and rattles it and it doesn’t budge. For this reason I would highly recommend. Negatives: was very fiddly to put up (but then that’s what makes it secure I guess!) Also, it is quite hard to open, once you get the hang of it it’s not awful and you can do it one handed but it’s still not easy - this is the only reason I would knock one star off.

This gate is ok but watch it when you buy it the fittings to extend it do not fit the gate as the bars are in the way had to use cabble ties instead it'

Very difficult to assemble
Extremely difficult to line up and screw the plastic connector in at the top. The plastic also cracked so bad to send the product back.

Will never use Argos again
Bought this item , it was the wrong size and Argos Llanelli refused to give me a refund because I hadn’t opened the box properly and the card board which the parts were had been ripped open ! The response from the staff member when I said how else are you meant to open something which has been Celotaped within an inch of its life and the response I got was ‘ there are better ways of doing it than that!’ Shocking!

Secure gate.
This is a good extendable gate which is protecting my little grandchildren at the top of the stairs. I would add that when screwing the two parts together I managed to strip the thread of the screws and was unable to remove them. This is something to be aware of - don’t fully tighten the screws until you are sure of your measurements.

Yes this gate can be used at the top of the stairs, provided it is an opening between 60 to 97cm in size. If the safety barrier is used at the top of the stairs, it should not be positioned below the top level.
