About this product
A safety gate that fixes to the wall with no step over bar at the bottom. Perfect for doorways and stairs when you need to keep toddlers safely contained without tripping hazards. It extends to fit openings from 60 to 97cm, so it'll work in narrow hallways or wider gaps. The screw fix installation means it's sturdy and reliable, and the two-way opening lets you walk through from either direction. Adults can open and lock it with one hand, but the double locking mechanism keeps little fingers from figuring it out.
The wall fixing means there's no bottom bar to trip over (especially useful at the top of stairs). The double locking system is simple for an adult but tricky for small hands to work out. It opens both ways, so you're not stuck pushing or pulling depending on which side you're on. 7 extension positions let you adjust the width to suit your space, with bar spacing of around 55mm. The gate stands 73cm tall and is suitable for children up to 24 months. Manual closing means you'll need to pull it shut, but one-handed operation keeps things convenient when you've got your hands full.

For how cheap it is, it works, but I wish I had spent more for something better.

Good adjustability. Wall mounts look weak.
We bought two of these to cater for occasional visits from our granddaughter, choosing this model for its width and adjustability. With a large skirting board, installation on the wall may require a batten fixing permanently to the wall. Supporting the weight of the gate on two plastic lugs makes me think that it will need to be removed or closed most of the time to avoid straining these excessively and risking breakage. Time will tell.

Great Baby Gate - easy to use and install
Great for what we needed. Easy enough to install, and fit the door frame to the kid's bedroom. Easy to use even one handed and the lack of a bar at the bottom means no tripping! We chose this one as our gap was slightly too small for standard sized baby gates and it's big adjustability means we can use it again should we move.

Yes this gate can be used at the top of the stairs, provided it is an opening between 60 to 97cm in size. If the safety barrier is used at the top of the stairs, it should not be positioned below the top level.
