About this product
Engine light's glowing and you've no idea what's triggered it. This Streetwize fault code reader plugs into your car's diagnostic port and reads the ELM codes that'll tell you what's going on. Works with petrol vehicles from 1996 and diesel from 2004 onwards, as long as they're OBD II compliant including CAN systems. It checks the malfunction indicator lamp and reviews emission monitor readiness, so you know what's being flagged. Draws power straight from the port so no batteries to keep charged, and it's small enough to live in the glovebox for whenever you need it.
Helps you understand fault codes before deciding whether to sort it yourself or book a garage appointment. Universal OBD II connection fits most modern cars and vans on UK roads. Powered through the diagnostic port without separate charging or battery changes. Straightforward to use, just plug in and read what the codes mean. Compact enough to keep in the car permanently so it's there when a warning appears.

Seems ok
Seems to be ok for basics. Easy enough to use. Small and easy to carry or store. Told us what the fault was. Only a relatively cheap gadget, handy to have to diagnose before a trip to the garage is necessary.

Ease of use
Our car was showing a fault on the dash but with the help of this reader we were able to order the part and fix the fault ourselves saving us a lot of time and money the garage would have charged us

Vehicle fault coder
This is a great thing with me being a woman and if I think something is wrong I can plug this in to see if it comes up with anything wrong with car. I don't have to rely on anyone else if I can do it myself. So I would recommend to always have it in yer boot of car

Hello Bob,
The supplier has advised the following for the Streetwize OBDII Vehicle Fault Code Reader:
Mk7 Transits do have OBD-II, so a basic reader like SWOBD will usually plug in and read/clear engine fault codes.
It should work for:
- Engine warning light (MIL)
- Generic fault codes (P-codes)
- Emissions readiness
- Basic live data (depending on ECU)
Important - Please be aware that a cheap/basic reader like SWOBD only reads generic engine data. It usually won't access Ford-specific modules, such as ANS, Airbag, BCM/Body electronics, Injector coding/advanced diagnostics. For those things, people typically use a Ford-specific tool like FORScan + proper adapter.
Thank you for using Q&A.
