I brought this lense to fit my Canon 6d SLR full frame. Looking that it was a EF it would fit the camera.. I was wrong. I should of enquired first. Not a complete waste I have a Canon 4000d that it will fit.

Yes, however this is only 10-18mm zoom. For distances of birds you would need 100mm plus.
