Item well packaged and delivered by a friendly Argos driver. Unfortunately havn't had time to test the device.. so not the best of reviews i know.. but im just here for the chance to win a £100 Argos Voucher of course.. "Ta-ra" (northern good-bye)

It is good to have- but
I bought this after having a slight accident were I blew the electric circuits. So this little device will help, but it will also pick up other things as well. In general it works well.

Accurate and easy to use
A brilliant, simple to use device in order to detect pipes and wires in walls and under floorboards. Just switch it on and pass it over the area you want to put screws or nails in and it will accurately tell you if its safe to do so.

Fits the bill
Accurate description of product. Good instructions on how to use correctly. If the instruction are followed then the product works well. This works much much better than a more fancy digital type detector bought previously.

Bought this to help my brother out in his new house so that he didnt blow-up or drown himself. It was very hit and miss when being used so we didnt realy trust it. A number of times it said that the whole wall was solid metal or maybe this is some funky force filed detection..... Its hard to compare against another product but we ended up returning it. Bit of a shame as Bosch tools are normally ok

This detector can identify ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and live cables beneath surfaces. However, it does not mention floorboards specifically, and its effectiveness depends on the type of pipe you are trying to detect. It can detect metal pipes (such as copper or steel) and pipes with live cables up to certain depths (70 mm for metal, 50 mm for live cables), but it will not detect plastic pipes.

Yes, the Bosch Truvo Electrical Detector is designed to detect both metal pipes and live electrical cables behind plasterboard on a stud wall. It can detect live wires up to a depth of 50 mm and metal objects up to 70 mm deep.

The Truvo is not designed to detect pipes, but it will detect things through brick.
“Detectable materials: Ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, live cables.

Detection depth, copper, max. 60mm
Detection depth of live cables, max. 50mm”

I think the Argos answer should say 60mm max depth, not 6mm

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Bosch Truvo Electrical Detector: ''The Bosch Truvo can be used to detect pipes through screed. The screed must be dry for detection purposes. The max 6mm depth still applies.''
