Works well. READ THE MANUAL. To get the best and most accurate reading, follow the manual. Then it works as intended. Worth every penny. Found a hidden cable in the wall which was were i planned to put sockets. Saved me a lot of problems.

It detects live cables and metal objects well. However, the beeping noise can sometimes trigger when your fingers are near the sensor.

Does not detect anything reliably, through plater or plasterboard it is absolutely useless, it also blips intermittently when there is nothing there, very frustrating. Useless in fact dangerous do not buy one.

Useful tool to help find areas in the wall that are safe to drill into. Detects both metal and wires. It is also able to notify you the depth of the detected objects. It does seem quite sensitive however. Easy to hold and use.

This detector can identify ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and live cables beneath surfaces. However, it does not mention floorboards specifically, and its effectiveness depends on the type of pipe you are trying to detect. It can detect metal pipes (such as copper or steel) and pipes with live cables up to certain depths (70 mm for metal, 50 mm for live cables), but it will not detect plastic pipes.

Amazon uk shows this product in generation 1 and 2, and two different prices. But generation 2 at almost 52 pounds. I dont know how to confidently differentiate between generation 1 and 2.
Definitely 2 versions, one with red diamond, the other a circle, think circle is 2ng gen

Yes, the Bosch Truvo Electrical Detector is designed to detect both metal pipes and live electrical cables behind plasterboard on a stud wall. It can detect live wires up to a depth of 50 mm and metal objects up to 70 mm deep.

The Truvo is not designed to detect pipes, but it will detect things through brick.

I think the Argos answer should say 60mm max depth, not 6mm

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Bosch Truvo Electrical Detector: ''The Bosch Truvo can be used to detect pipes through screed. The screed must be dry for detection purposes. The max 6mm depth still applies.''
