Better in person
I'm really funny about light fittings and one minute I really lined this and the next I wasn't too sure, however it looks lovely once up.

Decent product at a fair price
An adequate, fairly low priced bathroom light fitting. Easy to fit and functional, which is all that is really needed for an under stairs WC. There was a small scratch on the chrome, but as this isn't really visible once fitted it's not a problem.

Light looks good on bathroom but frosted glass makes it a bit duller than I wanted

Holes in the light
Bought this as needed a replacement fast, overall finish is not great on the chrome, holes near the screws for no apparent reason, stuck with it until I find a better one

New bathroom light
This was purchased as my other light bulb was basically unobtainable. Even though it only takes a low wattage bulb it certainly gives a lot of light and is far better than its predecessor. However it does not require earthing as it says in your description as the earthing slot is covered.

Good quality
Nice fitting and looks class.

Hello Harvey,
The supplier has advised the following for the Argos Home Aviemore Bathroom Flush to Ceiling Light - Chrome:
ā The provided fixings are not for PVC cladding bathroom ceiling but you can use suitable fixings for installation. ā
Thanks for using Q&A.
I have the same light and had the same problem, I used rubber gloves to get a good grip and twisted the metal part clockwise though either direction will work.
When removed there are 2 rubber rings around the rim, one on top section and one on lower section this is what makes it difficult to remove as over time they stick to each other, so that this dont happen again I have smeared some oil on rubber to stop both sections becoming stuck together.

Hi Kaz
Argos Home Aviemore Bathroom Flush to Ceiling Light - Chrome
Having checked the maximum that can be used in this light is 6 watts LED so you would not be able to use a 60w bulb.

Hi Mike
Re: Argos Home Aviemore Bathroom Flush to Ceiling Light - Chrome604/2684
Our supplier says "I presume the customer is referring to an extractor fan rather than a ceiling fan. In this case the extractor fan would usually have a switched live wire which is linked to the light switch, so does not run through the light at all, so this light can be used with that setup, depending on the total circuit load. I would recommend the customer speaks to a qualified electrician for further advice."

Hello Will,
I have spoken to our supplier regarding the Home Aviemore Bathroom Flush to Ceiling Light and they have advised as follows:
"These holes are drain holes ā they allow water to exit the fitting should there be any type of ingress into the ceiling mount, as the product is rated IP44."
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Doc martin,
The top shade is intended to be tight in order to create a good seal to prevent water ingress but it can definitely be removed with perseverance, please see the link below.
