Not up to the usual tapo high standard
Intermittent charging, regardless of brightness outside. Still have to occasionally take camera from wall to charge and this ensures it's only once per week rather than everyone other day. Disappointed compared to other tapo products.

I looked up the online shopping of Argos as I was looking for a solar panel to charge my new outdoor camera I had recently got. The price was good and it was in stock so I ordered one. There was a short waiting time for allocation and collection and it was worth it. I collected it and within an hour had it fitted and up and running. A very sturdy piece of kit and well packed. I was very please with the outcome.

Yes, it can still charge with a 10 m extension if you use a high-quality, thicker gauge waterproof cable. However, expect slightly slower charging due to voltage drop. TP-Link recommends the standard 4 m cable for best efficiency and weather protection. If you extend to 10 m, you must ensure proper weatherproofing of all connectors and joints to prevent water ingress and maintain durability outdoors.

Hi,
A solar panel's efficiency is influenced by direct sunlight. The panel can still collect and convert light energy in the absence of direct sunlight, however, in low-light conditions, the output power will be affected, and it may not be able to provide sufficient power. The solar panel will charge the battery of the camera during the day with sunlight to 100% to make sure the camera still has power at night.
For cameras, which require more power than lighting devices, it's recommended to install the solar panel in a location with direct sunlight.

Tapo A201 has a 4m / 13 ft extra-long cable. We do not recommend using power extension cords on the camera, as they can pose a risk of lightning damage that may void the product's warranty.
