Great results
Bought a month ago & so impressed with results of this steam iron. It does feel quite weighty but I don’t mind this as the results outweigh this very small negativity.

Good steam, easy to fill, nice weight.
This is a great iron it’s a nice weight not too light but not too heavy either, it’s easy to fill and the tank isn’t too dark so you can see the fill line easily.

Great purchase
Very good iron. Heavy but I think that’s helpful for ironing well. Read the instructions and don’t use demineralised water to avoid brown stains!

Unpleasantly
I was very unpleasantly surprised by the Tefal Ultimate Pure FV9845. It’s one of the most expensive models, yet when I took it out of the box it looked extremely outdated. I didn’t even turn it on — I immediately returned it to the store. It feels strange to see such an old-fashioned product being released in 2025. Everything felt loose, the patterns and fonts looked blurry, and the mechanical switch made the whole design seem even more dated. It’s very surprising to offer this for £160. I wasn’t willing to keep it even with the £85 discount.

Highly recommend, excellent iron
Far and away the best iron I've ever owned. Super powerful and easy to use with excellent steam output. Yes, it's fairly heavy, but only on first pick up as it glides so easily, and you're not holding it for long because it makes short work of any ironing task. Some slightly tired looking bed linen looks renewed after ironing with this, it's brought back a perfect finish.

Very pleased.
Bought about 2 weeks ago in a Black Friday Deal. Nice looking iron. Pleased with it so far and at the offer price it was good value for money. At 1.45kg it’s heavier than my previous iron but I’ve got used to the extra weight and now quite like it. Because it’s naturally weighty it means you don’t have to apply much pressure yourself to get creases out. It glides smoothly and has a good long lead. Temperature controls seem accurate. It has a strong steam function. I guess the downside to that is that you do need to refill the tank more often but as long as you don’t need to do industrial size batches of ironing I’ve found it’s not a big problem. I also noticed some people have mentioned it drips water. I haven’t experienced that but think you do have to keep an eye on the light and return it to stand on its heel now and again as necessary to get back to temperature for steaming. I haven’t had to clean the micro filter yet so can’t comment on how easy or difficult that is to do. So far so good and pleased with it.

Yes, it is designed to operate using untreated tap water. Pure de-mineralised or pure distilled water should not be used.
Hi Patsy. We would like to advise you that the recommended amount of citric acid is a teaspoon to 0.5 litre of warm water. this is an indicator and not needed for the cleaning. If you need further assistance please reach out to us through: https://www.tefal.co.uk/contact-us...
Ensure the steam is selected on the front switch. When the iron is on high heat, it then produces steam. For an extra boost of steam a button is pressed.
The Iron is designed to be used as an Iron this can be as a dry iron or steam Iron.
