wrong product…!
It wasn’t until I got it home and got it out the box that I realised I had bought the wrong item for what I needed. Unfortunately, I really struggled to get the box open which resulted in some minor damage to the box. When I took it back I was refused a refund because the box was damaged and therefore it couldn’t be resold. Absolutely terrible customer service in the store, just refused to accept my explanation. Very tempted to never shop with Argos again as a result!

The HDMI to USB Type-C Adapter - White will not work with the Samsung Galaxy S5 as this does not support DisplayPort Alternate Mode, which is required for the transmission of the content from the phone to the TV.

I can advise the following for the HDMI to USB Type-C Adapter - White:
You are correct, that this is the other way around, it should be bi-directional but this isn't tested as it's intended to go USB-C to HDMI.

This item will not work with the Samsung Galaxy A15. The A15 does not support DisplayPort Alternate Mode, which is required for the transmission of the content from the phone to the TV.
