Great hamster cage
Brought this last week as my daughter adopted a hamster from a neighbour she's been caring for, for a while so I thought this cage was a good deal price wise and great space for her hamster to live in. The hamster seems very happy moving around the cage, up and down the ladders aswell the bed part at the top is handy as can get hamster out from the bed area. Also had the 2 different openings (one at top n side at cage which at first was little tricky as the metal Overlaps the bars but that's good as means not easy for little ones to open). Also when cleaning out , you can unclip from both sides so makes it quick n easy to clean.

“ The Pico hamster cage water bottle measures 4cms diameter, 12 cms length ( including nozzle 15.5cms ) The bottles are made specifically for our hamster home, Other bottles on the market don’t fit. ”

DO NOT BUY THIS CAGE! Ethical hamster cage requirements in the UK are MINIMUM cage dimensions 100x50cm unbroken space for all hamsters, including dwarf species. In particular, advice is to avoid multiple levels and tubes. This cage is totally unsuitable and is now considered unethical. Rescue centres and reputable pet shops, including many Pets at Home stores, will not sell you a hamster for this cage. Please see Blue Cross website for cage advice.
I was recently refused a hamster from pets at home, leaving my daughter in tears due to the fact that this cage wasnt suitable for either.

One Syrian hamster may struggle with the wheel being on the small side for them.

So also too small for gerbils and no depth for substrate to dig in. This cage is totally unsuitable and is now considered unethical. Rescue centres and reputable pet shops, including many Pets at Home stores, will not sell you a hamster for this cage. Please see Blue Cross website for cage aadvice.

Unfortunately this cage is not suitable for 2 gerbils.

My dwarf hamsters sometimes struggle with the slopes and gerbils are a similar size (perhaps a little smaller?). That would be my only hesitation. Also the bottom tray is not -that- deep so burrows and tunnels are very difficult. So, it may be suitable, but it is not ideal.

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know yes it is, but they suggest they are at least 8 weeks of age due to the bar width.

No this is too small for rats.
Yes , as it has 1800 square inches of floor space.
How to work it out is by 50 x 36 cm to get you 1800.
Mice only need 144 square inches each for daily space , equivalent to 1 square foot each .

I have looked at the measurements for this item and i am sorry but it does not exceed 450 square inches of floor space due to the item being W50, D36cm
