My worst purchase

Biggest mistake of my life. Worst purchase The dishwasher does wash but there the positives end. I must dry pretty much everything with a tea towel after cycle. I deliberately choose a model with the airdry feature…. • Upper cutlery rack I thought would give me more capacity in lower baskets. cutlery rack does not allow for cooking utensils. Nor is there room for these on the upper basket cup rack. The grid and racks trap water which remains at end of wash and dry, and drips onto items below. • Middle basket is probably the worst design, designed by someone who doesn’t have to load a dishwasher. Even the AEG website for this product does not show the upper/lower baskets. My old 45cm dishwasher (JL brand) upper basket had racks to put plates or cups/glasses in. Plates could be up to 20 or 24 cm in diameter depending on whether the basket was in the lower or upper adjustable position. The AEG has a small row of prongs on the back right upper basket. Barely wide enough for a 15cm saucer or plate. Space has been wasted be raising the basket too high over the central water pipe. There is also an annoying higher bit over the left-hand side at the front which means that space cannot be fully used on the LH side. LH side has no prongs or raised rack sections, so glasses and mugs slide about if the dishwasher is not quite full. I’ve already experienced 2 breakages. The slope of the upper basket is not enough for water to drain away so the base of all cups, mugs and bowls are full of water. In my JL model small cups could be placed on the fold down rack above the upper basket. This is not possible on the AEG model despite there being enough space as there is nothing to hold them in place. And wine glasses do not remain in place on the upper rack as most don’t fit in the slots or they are poorly positioned. • Lower basket has effectively less room than my previous model as the prongs are much further apart. So fewer plates and items can be placed there. The result is that I have to run the dishwasher more often so no eco credentials either. I would quite honestly say that this model is not fit for purpose and despite the expense I am seriously considering replacing it after 3 months of use.

great dishwasher

just had dishwasher for a short time. it works well & gives several programme options. I particularly like the pull out drawer for cutlery. can't comment on usage over a longer period

Overall happy with dishwasher. Like the touch controls. Normal operation is quite quiet with an option to go even quieter.
