I bought this two weeks ago and find it very helpful in gauging how far, energetically and usefully I have walked. The only negative point is, the set-up instructions are not crystal clear. It seemed to take me ages to grasp how I was meant use it.

Does exactly what I wanted - i.e. counts my steps
The pedometer is fine but I found it a bit tricky to set up. This wasn’t helped by the information sheets that came with it. There’s a general one in a number of languages and then one detailed with the information you need to activate it. Unfortunately my detailed one was in Russian ! I had trouble looking it up online but have managed it and am using it.

“ In order to avoid counting steps that are not part of a walk, the unit does not display the step count for the first 4 seconds of walking. If you continue walking for more than 4 seconds, it displays the step count for the first 4 seconds and then continues to count.”

1 Press and hold Memory and Mode at the same time. The “lb” or “kg” flashes on the display.
2 Press and hold Memory and Mode at the same time again. After “Clr” has been displayed, “lb” and “kg” flash on
the display.

This will depend on the location you have placed this on your body. The best place for the Omron Walking Style IV Pedometer BLK to be positioned is in a pocket or on a belt loop. Holding it or having it round your wrist will cause inaccurate movement due to the arms also moving.
