About this product
This chunky bunk bed is made with hardwearing solid wood. The thick rails and slats help give it a sturdy finish and, best of all, it can be separated and used as 2 individual beds too. We've made sure the ground clearance is the same on both beds so if you use them separately, they'll look identical. Fitting holes are also plugged when you separate them so you'll still have the same high quality finish.
The headboards come ready assembled to make life that little bit easier.

Bunk beds sturdy
Instructions fairly easy to follow but had to undo upper headboard to fix guard rails, feel step 9 should be incorporated into step 8. Certainly need 2 people to assemble.
Solid Bed. Paint work not finished!
After assembling the bunk we realised one end of the bed hadn't been varnished. The Argos team on FB were very good and reduced the bed by 20%. However, I then discovered the bed had been reduced on their website anyway, just a few days after we had paid full price! Nonetheless, it looks like the bunk has been well constructed and will last.
beds are solid and worth the money
Can’t fault these bunk beds at all...perfect buy for the boys, no concern off breaking as the beds are solid and strong
Each bunk will have been tested to 100kg (15stone), so provided the user doesn't exceed this weight it can be used by sixteen year olds.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Argos Q & A.

No chance! Wouldn’t recommend any bunk beds for 16 year olds! If space is an issue you’d be better with a mattress on the floor.
