Great steamer
Bought this to replace my previous steamer, exactly same, a like for like replacement. I did have the previous one for well over 10 years so happy to buy same one. Great for steamer potatoes and veg at the same time, saves time and reduces energy usage from using the hob. Much better at not over cooking veg too.

Where possible our manufactures have removed polycarbonate (PC) plastic from their manufacturing sites. All manufacturing sites still producing PC products that come in to contact with food are required to demonstrate that they’re in full compliance with regulatory food contact requirements. This is supported with test certificates from specialised independent laboratories who test every plastic component that comes into contact with food to ensure that any BPA trace is below the legally accepted level before products are placed on the market. A product will not be sold until we hold test reports that demonstrate full compliance.

The supplier has advised the following for the Russell Hobbs 3 Tier Plastic Food Steamer 21140:
Yes, pasta can be cooked in it, however it will take very long time.
Eggs can be cooked in the food steamer.
Red meat can also be cooked, as there is nothing preventing you from doing that, but beef would probably yield poor results.
The manual advises on cooking times and recommended meat types for cooking and can be viewed in the "View document (PDF)" towards the bottom of the about this product section.
