We purchased this product after our old one died after seventeen years, This is the same product as our old one and we are very pleased with this I would also like to confirm that when purchasing this it was considerably cheaper and more convenient than if we had purchased with Amazon.

Timings not accurate.
I have only used this once so far. I went by the timings for steaming vegetables in the book but they weren't anywhere near cooked.

Brilliant steamer
I had my old steamer for some time - it was working ok but I dropped one of the baskets and it smashed so I decided to buy a new one. I am very impressed with the Russell Hobbs one which I bought. It is compact but is large enough for a family of four. It was really fast - I am over the moon. Would highly re4commend this product.

Compact and efficient

Unfortunately, I returned this item due to having limited kitchen storage. The description stated stackable and although the three tears are stackable within each other, they don't stack compactly over the base. The star rating is purely based on not meeting my particular needs and doesn't reflect the products performance as not used.

Bought this as a way to aid in my weight loss goals by using more steamed food it is incredible. It’s a huge capacity. It’s speed of cooking and it’s incredible usage even cook cooks rice which is just amazing

Yes, pasta can be cooked in it, however it will take very long time.
Eggs can be cooked in the food steamer.
Red meat can also be cooked, as there is nothing preventing you from doing that, but beef would probably yield poor results.
The manual advises on cooking times and recommended meat types for cooking and can be viewed in the "View document (PDF)" towards the bottom of the about this product section.
