Customers Say
Tapo video doorbell offers clear image quality, subscription-free use with local SD card storage, and good app features. Setup can be challenging, and battery life varies, often shorter than advertised.

Good once set up.
Overall we are pleased with the video doorbell. The setting up process was difficult and unclear when following the code scan included in the package. It was better on the Tapo app but still frustrating. We had to use the ethernet cable to connect the hub as our WiFi wasn't good enough to allow wireless connection which we would have preferred. Having said all that we are pleased with the picture it produces. Haven't assessed the battery life yet as only just purchased.

Clear picture and good value for money
Had this for about a week to replace my Ring doorbell. Really clear image and seems to work well. Overall very pleased with it.

Good purchase
Brought this to replace a previous subscription door bell. Its great works just the same but with a one off payment rather than a monthly subscription, saving in the future. The app is simple to use, the set up was pretty easy altho did take me a while to connect up and had to play with the settings as the battery was draining fast due to it waking up to often but it was easy enough to change settings. Its a good and clear picture, good purchase

Doorbell
Bought a week ago. Took a while to set up but it does what I want. Worked perfectly well when raining. Notifications are on time. Visibility and resolution is very good. There are options for detection of objects. The battery takes several hours to charge first time. It may need charging sooner than anticipated.

Great product and price
Switch from Ring to this. Much better and without the ridiculous storage costs with Ring. Very functional, easy to set up and great quality images.

Great video doorbell, battery life not so good
Had this for a month now, picture quality is good with great resolution, it was easy to install and set up, the door bell appears sturdy, weatherproof and well made. The only issue is we live in a busy area, already had to charge the battery twice. Might last longer if we set it only to activate when pressed rather than trying to use it for security recording. The AI is good though and filters out most background noise but unfortunately at the cost of battery drain. Local storage to an SD card works well.

Hi,
For the battery-powered doorbell, you can go to the Tapo app > doorbell's Device Settings > Storage & Recording > Clips Settings page to customize the length of the video clip, and the maximum value is 120 seconds. The length setting applies to the video clips stored on the SD card and cloud server.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Nods.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Tapo D230S1 2K 5MP Video Doorbell with Battery & Chime.
Yes, you can! Here are two ways to do it:
Method 1: Log in with the same account on both devices
Simply use your primary/owner TP-Link account to log into the Tapo app on both your phone and tablet. This gives you full control over the doorbell on both devices simultaneously.
Method 2: Share the doorbell with another account
If you prefer to use separate accounts on each device, you can share the doorbell with up to 5 additional TP-Link accounts. Keep in mind that shared accounts have limited permissions ā they can access Live View, two-way talk, voice call, pan/tilt control, and SD card playback, but cannot access Tapo Care cloud storage or change doorbell settings.
A few things to note:
1. For account security, it's recommended to only log in on your own personal devices.
2. You can enable Two-Step Verification in the Tapo app for added security:
3. Please make sure both your doorbell's firmware and the Tapo app are up to date for the best experience.
Thank you for using Q & A.
