Good quality camera and features.
Works well. The option to set areas that motion is detected is a good feature to preserve battery and stop unwanted notifications of neighbours cars moving around etc. The option to add a micro SD card to the hub to record videos for free rather than a cloud subscription was a must for me and it works well.

Not has advised.
This product is ok as a door bell and you can speak directly to someone at the door. It also doesn't need a monthly subscription to use which is also good. That's the good points. Bad Points. It takes about 2 hours to try and connect the doorbell to the hub and the internet and if the connection gets lost you have to do it all over again. Second I bought the more expensive one has it says it gives you battery life for upto 6 months without changing. Well in my experience it is no where near that, it's about 3 weeks. Even with all my detection sensors set to just 1 out 10. So it's on the lowest setting and still drains a lot quicker than advertised.

Good for the money
I have it for a month now so far it's working well, except few times didn't detect us going to the house! The battery is showing that is draining too fast maybe because I didn't reduce the zones of detection. Worth of for the money and no subscription, as you can use memory card. Picture is nice and clean

Battery Video Door Bell
I bought the door bell and hub combination from Argos as it a very good price and fitted my needs, slightly disappointed that the battery life is not as suggested, a few tweeks later and it appears to be lasting a little longer, quality of video is excellent.

I can advise that the Tapo D230S1 can be fitted to a door frame or wall using either the included adhesive for a drill-free installation or with screws and wall anchors for a more secure, permanent mount.

Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link Tapo D230S1 2K Battery Video Doorbell & Chime/Hub: The Tapo D230S1 Smart Video Doorbell connects to your Wi-Fi network through its Hub (Tapo H200), not directly to your router. This hub acts as a bridge between the doorbell and your router, which improves reliability.
The suggested distances is as below:
Link
Max Recommended Distance
Router ↔ Hub (Tapo H200)
~10-15 meters indoors (Wi-Fi)
Hub ↔ Doorbell (D230S1)
~15-25 meters indoors (~50-80 ft)

Hello There
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the TP-Link Tapo D230S1 2K Battery Video Doorbell & Chime/Hub.
The detection range of the Tapo D230S1 — a battery-powered video doorbell — isn't fixed, but it generally cuts in at around 8–9 metres when the PIR sensor is set to maximum sensitivity.
Although, the actual performance depends on:
Object size (people vs cars vs small animals)
Movement type (fast, deliberate steps vs subtle or slow movements)
Sensor sensitivity, angle, and mounting height
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi,
The Detection Range Test feature allows you to test the battery camera's activity detection zone. This diagnostic tool is instrumental in mapping out the battery camera's detection range, ensuring that it encompasses the intended surveillance area. By conducting this test, you can verify that the camera's field of detection is aligned with your security needs, guaranteeing comprehensive coverage.
Thanks for using Q&A.
