Not perfect, but good value for the ~£15 paid. Quality is decent. My 2 year old does use it for a short while occasionally, but it's not enough to grab longer term attention, which is probably expected for something like this. Probably works better if more than one child using it at a time...

Hi, touch is more than enough IMO.
For instance if your nephew was to sit or lay on the mat and touch or tap with his hands this would be fine to generate sound, not a lot of pressure is required.
I liked the option that it has a volume on top of the mat also (so if your nephew has sensory issues this would be an additional benefit?)
It makes piano sounds and if the child taps the mat it can change to animal sounds as well.

i bought one for my grand daughters, there dad played it with his hand to show them it made music. i highly recomend one of these piano's for your nephew.
You can sit in front of it and push the keys by hand, but a little force is needed. My 2 year old daughter loves just running up and down it, but she can still do it with her hands if she wants to.

yes it folds up fairly small my daughter and son in law always put it back in it's box which keeps it safe and easy to store. mine was a present for my two grand daughters.
