Good, but small for a larger person
Good product, neat and space saving. Bought for my Mum and she is well pleased with it, but a word of caution. It says it holds a weight up to 20 stone, seems sturdy enough, but my Mum is only about 10 stone and she fills the width of the seat. We don’t believe a person weighing 20 stones would fit in the width of the seat, ie between the handles.
Perfect for short term emergency
My mum was poorly suddenly with a fall and rather than going to hospital the family bought this commode as an emergency for the home short term. My mum says the commode could have been wider to be able to manoeuvre better. It’s also easy to assemble and to store. It was a valuable asset to purchase.
For my wife after an operation on her feet.
Excellent product. It's lightweight, easy to use, move and empty, we've even used it as a shower chair. Folds up and is easily stored.
If you’re registered disabled or have a long-term illness, or you’re buying on behalf of someone who does, you may be able to claim back the VAT depending on the product you purchase.
What is eligible?
To claim a refund, the mobility or living aid product must be specifically designed to support a disability or condition.
Some products may be beneficial for your condition (and could even be recommended by a doctor) but aren’t eligible for a VAT refund because they’re not specifically designed to support people with a health condition.
A reclining chair may make sitting more comfortable if you have a health condition, but it would not be eligible for a VAT refund as it’s not specially designed to support any condition.
A rise and recline chair, however, would be eligible, because it’s been specially designed to help someone to stand up if they find that activity difficult due to a health condition.
Other products that are not normally eligible for a VAT refund include:
Mobility scooters that travel faster than 4 miles an hour
