About this product
Iron clothes with or without a cord using the Tower T22008 2-in-1 Steam Iron. Its CeraGlide ceramic soleplate glides smoothly over fabrics, while the powerful 2400W element heats up in just 30 seconds. Switch between corded mode for longer sessions and cordless for freedom of movement when tackling hard-to-reach areas. With 40g constant steam and a 180g steam shot, it makes quick work of stubborn creases in everything from delicate blouses to heavy denim.
The 360 mL water tank reduces refills, and vertical steam refreshes hanging items and curtains. Anti-drip and anti-calc systems protect clothes and extend the iron's lifespan. Includes a measuring jug, soft-touch handle, and a 3-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Great iron, does what it says on the tin

Buy this Iron over household name brands
Unbeatable price for a lightweight clothing iron with cordless. The cordless does not seem to last long but fine for a couple of shirts. The build quality feels good and it heats up very quickly.

Smooth iron ing
Light and easy to use I liked the colour and the cord does not twist up and stores neat.y around the end. The base fastens secur.y to the iron when stored away

Nice iron but I found impractical for cordless
Bought on a whim as my current iron is getting old, saw this was able to be used cordless and it was on offer at a great price. It is a nice iron to use, quite light and easy to handle. The cordless function however I'm of mixed opinion off. I struggle to get my ironing board right next to any sockets and am too lazy to fetch an extension lead, consequently when I have to the use very tip of the ironing board, eg for the top back of a shirt, I struggle with lead length to get a good ironing angle. This does enable me to detach from the base and easily iron the top back of a shirt now however: the heat is not retained log in the iron so that is about all it will do as by the time I have done the top back and then positioned a sleeve, it is not hot enough so I immediately go back to having it corded. The style of my ironing board iron pad/holder also is not ideal for this iron. My pad is a hole with shaped side so the when used cordless the base will not sit on the ironing board so I then have to put the base on something near by and near the socket, bedside cabinet for example. The lead is quite strong and has a mind of its own so the base alone does not always stay where put, which is a nuisance. Also when in corded mode, the iron is slightly longer than my existing one, so this does not site so securely in the iron holder on the board. (Actually fell off, scorched the carpet and ended up with fibres stuck to the sole plate initially). I had given this 4 stars but having written all this have just given it 3. Ok it's not the irons fault it doesn't sit security in my board or that my board wont accommodate the base only for cordless mode, but this could be the case for many so whilst the idea of cordless is nice, in my case, the practicalities seem to outweigh the benefits.

Great invention
Didn’t know this exist until I went on the Argos website… not a ridiculous price… makes perfect sense especially no wrapping the cord up a mess … Normally the first thing to break on an iron.

Hi there.
I can advise that the Tower T22008 2-in-1 Steam Iron does not have an auto off function. It will, however, turn itself off when the battery is depleted when using it in the cordless mode.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Hi There,
Tower T22008 2-in-1 Steam Iron
On checking I can see there is a release switch on the base that will need to be slid to unlock if you want to use the iron cordlessly.
Thanks for using Q and A.
Hello Ali,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Tower T22008 2-in-1 Steam Iron: ''Please be advised that the Tower T22008 Ceraglide Iron does not contain a traditional rechargeable battery as it does not hold a lengthy charge like other household appliances.
Plug the iron in, then rotate the dial and the indicator light on the body of the iron will illuminate to show the iron is heating and will turn off once it has reached the optimum temperature.
When the iron needs to reheat, place it back onto the base and the indicator light will illuminate to show it is heating up again. It only takes a few seconds for the iron to heat to the required setting in between each use.''
Thank you for using Q & A.

Hello Heather. Our suppliers have advised that the Tower T22008 2-in-1 Steam Iron can be used as either a corded or cordless Iron.

Hi Jojo,
Regarding the Tower T22008 2-in-1 Steam Iron.
This product is only designed to be used intermittently as a cordless iron and should be placed back onto the charging pod in between each use.
The length of time the cordless function would last depends on the usage and we wouldn't be able to quantify this as there are too many variables to consider
Thanks for using Q&A.
