Fun field watch
I bought this to replace my Timex Weekender which had lost its Indiglo function. Being able to see the watch at night was a deal-breaker for me. This watch also has good lume on the hands so that in some situations you don't even need to use the Indiglo, which should save some battery life. The date function also is a big deal. I didn't have it on my Weekender, and noticed the inconvenience compared to my other watches that did have it. I looked long and hard at the alternative Timex field watch options, considered the prices and functions, and settled on this one. I was unsure about giving up a brass case, but this plastic one is ok, and considerably lighter to wear. The price here at Argos is the cheapest you'll find. Crazy-cheap! In true Timex analog style, the Acadia Expedition is a loud ticking watch - maybe louder than the Weekender, or at least a sharper tone to the tick. The ticking is legendary for Timex owners and something you either get used to or don't notice. If there is any kind of background noise, you won't hear it. If you're sitting quietly, maybe in a restroom, then yes, you will. The Acadia is a good looking watch. The green face, white numbers, black case and orange seconds hand lends it to customisation. The convoluted black strap it comes with could be polarising - you'll either love it or hate it. For me it felt too tight, the velcro was uncomfortable, and the strange elastic shock proofing set-up was confusing. I swapped it out for a Navy Nato strap and the green/blue/black colour scheme really stands out. Grey strap also looks good well. You can buy Nato straps cheaply in almost any colour or variation you like, so this watch could become a fashionable accessory made for your taste. Just like the Weekender, this watch keeps accurate time. It hasn't lost or gained a second over the past month I've had it. 50M water protection at this price is really good. Resistance to wear and tear remains to be seen - everything is plastic - but even glass and metal cases get scratched up. If you do swap the strap, be careful not to scratch the case when removing the spring bars. Overall, it's a really good price for an accurate, easy to read, fun field watch.

Great no nonsense watch
Very pleased with this no nonsense watch that I bought to replace the same model that I had for three years before I managed to lose it. I kayak and swim so waterproofness is essential, and really like the velcro strap.

An honest watch that keeps it simple.
I bought this as a work horse, does what it say on the tin watch. And it pretty much does. Unfortunately the indigo stopped working within a few days. I returned it and Argos refunded with no faff what so ever as they could not replace it. I have since bought the digital version elsewhere and all is great with it. Love velcro straps, even if it is that it suits my thin wrists more than most. 100m water resistant iwas never going to be tested. I actually liked the look of the analogue version, it is slightly understated and clean looking. Which makes it stand out from other budget watches that look like they have bells a whistles. I like Timex, nostalgia and real world value speaks of an honest watch. You could easily spend double and get less.

Great casual watch
Great everyday watch. The Indiglo illumination is genuinely excellent, bright, clear, and very useful in low light. It’s also extremely lightweight, so you barely feel it on your wrist, which makes it perfect for daily wear. The only downside is the velcro strap. It’s comfortable and practical, but it looks quite casual and doesn’t pair well with smarter clothing.

Yes, I replaced mine straight away - with a nato strap, as it happens. It has the normal sprung spindles. I can’t remember the spindle size off the top of my head but they are a pretty standard size.
I have this watch for 6 year , and I never change the battery .
Bought mine in October 2020 so it’s a bit early to tell.

Batteries can last approximately 2 years. Timex strongly recommends that a retailer or jeweller replace battery to prevent damage being caused. Battery type is on watch back. Prices will vary according to the retailer.

Yes, this watch does have a light up face, when you push the crown in, as soon as the crown is released it turns off. Both the hour and minute hand glow in the dark in the standard way. I hope this helps, as the store was unwilling to demonstrate when I bought mine.

This watch is described as having a green dial, although image 4 on the product page is used to illustrate the night-light, therefore the face would not be this luminous when the night-light is not in use.

Your Perpetual Calendar watch accurately keeps track of how many days are in each month. It also adjusts for leap years. The date on your watch (including the month and year) was preset at the factory to Eastern Standard Time, Greenwich Mean Time or Hong Kong Standard Time (depending on where you purchased your watch). You only need to adjust the time.

Hi,
To change the date on this model you need to pull the winder into the middle position so the hands do not move and then wind anticlockwise or clockwise until the correct date shows. Once set push the winder back in and all is set.
