About this product
Put your little one in pole position the next time you're out cycling with the Little Explorer child bike seat. Different to traditional child seats that just give them a view of your back and a sense of being out of control, this bicycle seat lets them share the view as well as the thrill of riding. It gives you a top tube fixing, foot pegs and straps for security and an ergonomic padded seat. It's suitable for ages 3 to 6 years and a weight limit of 22kg. It fits most bikes with a cross bar.
Get them involved! Your child sits on their own saddle, with feet securely on their own pegs, gripping the handlebars and learning the sensations which will help them in their own riding when the time comes.
Safety First! This product has been carefully designed for both enjoyment and safety. The design and construction has undergone extensive assessment and testing, not only by Oxford's product engineers, but also by an independent standards testing organisation.
Sweet Talking, Because your child is sitting infront of you you can chat to them, reassure them and tell them what is happening, which all helps their understanding of the road.

Brilliant seat
Brought this last month so my grandson could be taken on daddies bike while on holiday. Fits great and 21/2 year old is happy, comfortable and safe.

Works well despite trickiness of setting it up
It was a bit tricky to set up, as other reviews had warned, but it's been working well for a couple of weeks now. My daughter is very happy riding around on my bike and it feels like an easier way to cycle compared to the rear-mounted child seat that we used for a few years with her weight shifted more towards the front of the bike.

Easy to install and looks smart
I bought this while on holiday as my daughter didn’t like the trailer we had. Really easy to fit and doesn’t look out of place. My only issue is the foot straps are one size and can’t be adjusted

Superb addition for anyone with bike and young kid
Grandsons love it. Screams of delight and the little one jumping in the air shouting "That was AWESOME!" Now I can take the little one with us when the bigger one rides to school. Easy to fit, well-made and reasonably robust (foot straps could be a little longer and the attachments more substantial for sustained use). Very good value for money.

Works well
Simple to put together and seems solid once all tightened up. One of the nuts did not have threads in
Stepar, 35 - 44, Tyne and Wear
My 5 year likes it
The foot strap is too small, apart from that my 5 year old likes it
Karl, 35 - 44, Midlands
Good but too short
The front of the seat rubs against the front stem as the feet holders are too short to manoeuvre.
Nelly, 45 - 54, Devizes
love the idea, awful to fit
The concept of this is amazing. We love our adventures out on it. We get to chat away rather than my little one being stuck behind us on the bike and she's actively holding on and getting used to the bike experience. We went for it because it's so much cheaper than the leading model of this type and we weren't sure if we'd get much use out of it. It was a complete pain to fit and we had to find our own way of securing it to the bike with makeshift padding.

Hi LGD,
Thanks for your query about the Oxford Little Explorer Top Tube Front Child Bike Seat.
Without being able to see the bike or knowing more about its specs we cannot give an exact answer. It is a universal product and should fit most bikes but not all. The seat will come with instructions on how to fit it though.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Rosielea,
The Oxford Little Explorer Top Tube Front Child Bike Seat can not be attached to a top tube if there are brake and gear wirings running over the top of it.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Jay,
The supplier has advised the following for the Oxford Little Explorer Top Tube Front Child Bike Seat:
This is designed to be universal and the supplier has confirmed that, because of this, they do not keep a record of specific bikes it may be compatible with. They also advise though that, from the info they do have available, it is very likely to fit that bike.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Helen,
I can confirm that this would not be suitable for a Diamondback ebike.
I hope this helps

Hello Sally,
I can advise the following on the Oxford Little Explorer Top Tube Front Child Bike Seat:
This would be going against the manufacturer's specifications and cause the warranty to void for improper use. While in theory you may be able to exceed it, it's not going to break at 22.1Kg, but it would be wise to stay within the limit for health and safety reasons.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Yes but only on short journeys and smooth terrain - I don't think it's good for the bike or the adult! :-)
Hello there,
No, This doesn't come with the tools needed.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Amy,
After checking with the manufacturer I can confirm that the Oxford Little Explorer Top Tube Front Child Bike Seat is not available in the Handrail version.
There are other brand on the market that do have the handrail option.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Sabley,
Thanks for your question.
I'm unable to find the bike you mean, but this seat will fit most adult bikes that have a top tube or cross bar. It will not fit bikes that you can step through, which most women's bikes do.
I hope this helps. :)
Hi,
I can confirm you are able to slightly angle the seat using the wedges provided.
I hope this helps
