What I need, but not as stable as I'd like
Bought this lamp about a month ago as I needed some directive light for reading and knitting. The lamp itself does the job but the design means that the pole and base aren't as firmly connected as they should be to provide stability. Add to this the fact that the pole is narrow and comes in two sections that screw together. The result is a lamp that leans and occasionally unscrews itself (after moving the adjustable light section) enough to actually bend a little half way up. That said, it provides light at the position I need and at a price I could afford, and it has a small footprint, so I'm keeping it. One added frustration was that the only bulb of the type specified that Argos sells is dimmable and, therefore, useless. Don't bother with it - you'll have to get your bulb elsewhere or end up paying twice like me.

Really beautiful reading lamp
Really beautiful lamp. The middle is slightly sensitive so needs tightening and the extendable was very stiff. The light is quite harsh as there’s nothing to soften it but it’s a lovely reading lamp. It is beautiful

Good looking tidy & compact lamp
This lamp looks really good. It has a solid base, but I found it quite hard to screw the 2 parts together tightly. I am very pleased with it, however I did think that it was expensive, compared to other floor lamps.

The quality is good, about the design my only observation is that you can see the bottom of the bulb because it sticks out slightly, but it doesn't look too bad. The brightness is perhaps even too good: I might have used a bulb that's too bright, in fact I need to direct the "lampshade" carfully to avoid the light from shining in people's eyes.

Great lamp
The first one I bought was faulty and I had to return it, but I bought it again when it came back in stock. It was easy to put together and looks great, I’m really happy with it.
