Great invention
Brilliant at keeping all the cats out but it took my cat a week get used to it. Small design flaw is there should be a setting to change it to a normal catflap cus i was sick of keep pressing the button and taking batteries out so he could get back in. He had no problem getting out just took him a while to master getting back in. Hes learnt it now so happy days. Should have bought this ages ago. Was sick of cats down street keep coming in weeing and stealing food.

Good quality and reliable
I bought this to replace an identical one that I have had for over ten years and was starting to not always read the chip meaning my cats sometimes couldn't get out or back in. I particularly chose this one as (a) I know that they work well, and (b) I knew that it would fit the existing hole. Swap-over was easy and it works perfectly straight away. Tip 1 - Instructions say to fit it and then feed your car through it to register the chip. However it is much easier and less stressful to both you and the cat to do in in the house before you install it. You don't even have to feed the cat through it, just hold the flap by their neck and it will read the chip. Tip 2 - There used to be one model that worked both ways (in and out), be aware that there is now a single way one as well as this dual way one. You need this dual one if you want it to work both ways.

Good quality and easy swap
We needed to change from single direction chip reading to both directions. This was easy to fit and works really well. Very easy to set up.

Excellent
This is an excellent catflap. Easy to use with straightforward instructions and if you're replacing an old Sureflap catflap it's simply one in one out. I recommend this product.

Dual features for entry and exit with microchip
I purchased this cat flap a couple of weeks ago to manage outdoor access for both my adult cat and a kitten, specifically to prevent the kitten from going outside. The dual sided locking mechanism ensures that entry and exit are restricted with a microchip, and the settings allow for selective access, enabling one pet to exit while restricting the other. Installation was seamless, it replaced my previous SureFlap cat flap perfectly with no additional adjustments required. The setup was straightforward, and the device has been functioning flawlessly since installation.

Great and works but it is expensive
I purchased this I have three cats, a young one who is (after a few days) happily coming and going. One who is getting on, likes to stay in but also go out when she feels like it, she comes on, no problem, going out she needs a bit of persuasion. The eldest one is deaf so longer allowed out, this flap means I can keep her in whilst the other two can please themselves. Expensive but it works and means I no longer have to jump up and down to let cats out. Fantastic for an oap,

Good reliable cat flap
I bought this catflap a few months ago to replace one I had had for years that finally gave up the ghost. It was easy to fit using the existing opening and was easy to programme and set up for my two cats who use it quite happily. It is a bit expensive but is robust and sturdy and overall a good piece of kit.

Just what we wanted
This is great. Easier to set up than a previous catflap and more user-friendly for our cat. We've just acquired a kitten who can't go outside yet and we needed a flap which would allow our adult cat to come and go without letting the youngster out. This does the job. Very pleased.

First class cat flap
This cat flap was purchased as we have two cats, one of which is allowed outside and at the moment the other cat is not. This cat flap is perfect as we have programmed it to allow our one cat to come in and out and our second cat remains safely inside. It also keeps stray cats out. When our second cat is allowed out we will programme it accordingly.

Works well
This is for our oldest cat who likes to roam. Although it works perfectly well, Jasper is unsure of it so hovers in front of it, activating and deactivating the flap. Consequently, it runs out of battery quite quickly. It is a good product but make sure that your cat has the confidence to use it properly.

Hi, Loraine
I can advise that the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap has four settings so it can operate without the need for your cat to wear a collar or tag.

Hello Dippy,
I can advise the following for the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap:
A circular hole is required to install the cat flap in glass. The optimum hole size is 212mm, but the cat flap can be installed into holes up to 260mm in diameter.

Hello Ros,
The supplier has advised the following for the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap:
"SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap is designed to be weatherproof and includes a draft excluder brush to minimize drafts as much as possible. However, like all cat flaps, it cannot be completely draft-free, as it needs to open to allow your cat to move in and out."

Hello there,
SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap
This is an easy to fit, drop-in replacement for most cat flaps. However if this was going to be installed into
glass then it would need a mounting adaptor .
Thanks for using Q&A.
I noticed this when my cat was first getting used to the flap. Wasnt the dualscan version, the regular one. I found changing the batteries to better ones did help this
Hello CS,
The supplier has advised the following for the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap:
"The SureFlap opens within a few milliseconds of the cat's head breaking the beam of light which activates the reader. We have never heard of a cat running head first into the flap (except for intruder cats who weren't able to get in!). The anecdotal evidence we have is that cats are very clever about this and that any difference in opening time they adjust to right away."
Thank you for using Q&A.
