The Sony ULT Field 1 is a compact portable speaker that punches well above its size, delivering powerful sound and deep bass wherever you take it. Built on decades of Sony audio expertise, this little speaker stays clear and detailed even when you crank the volume right up, and it's small enough to slip into a bag without taking up half the space. With Bluetooth built in and a 12-hour battery life, you can stream music all day at the beach, in the park, or anywhere else that needs a soundtrack.
There's a dedicated ULT button that boosts bass and sound pressure for extra punch, perfect if you want basslines you feel as well as hear. It's waterproof and dustproof, so sand, splashes and rain won't stop the music. The 30W power output delivers plenty of volume for outdoor spaces. You get 2 internal speakers, a frequency range of 20Hz to 20000Hz, and control via the Sony Music Centre app. In the box you'll find a speaker, USB cable, rechargeable battery, and a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee. Note that no charging adaptor is included; use one with 2W to 15W output.

My main disappointment of this speaks is that the bass is over powering the overall sound quality. The clarity is good in a few locations which have athe ability to absorb the bass. No good in saying a tiled room. The SRS-XB100 can achieve a better clarity but do not match the bass of the ULT. I think that would be great for both units to have a bit of each sound in eachother. Battery life is good and portability is okay. I have decided not to plunge the unit in to a bath of water to find out how it will stand up to it. If we ever get rain again and I have left it outside then I will know what its waterproof is like.

Great speaker
I have had this for a week now and it is the most amazing sound I have ever heard in my little house. The clarity is great, it's very portable, not trialed the waterproofing and hope not to. The battery life is impressive and the bass is absolutely terrific. I absolutely love it.

I have another Sony wireless speaker and can’t believe the power of this new one I bought in sale with John Lewis. It’s very small but the sound quality is stunning. Not added equalisers as yet. Very pleased and great for holidays to easily pack.

I've had it for about 6 weeks , and it's fantastic for the garden ,living room , shower room etc , I only ever need it on about 1/4 of its volume capacity, the bass quality is fantastic .battery life is good ive only charged it once , I don't use it everyday but about 3 or 4 timesa week

As long as the speaker is connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port, the speaker's built-in battery is capable of charging itself even while music playback from the speaker is in progress. However, it may take a long time before charging completes depending on the usage of the speaker. It is recommended that you turn off the speaker before battery charging.
