About this product
Older dogs and cats often struggle with stiff joints after long rests, especially when they shift position or settle down for the night. This Silentnight Orthopaedic Pet Bed uses contoured foam that distributes weight evenly to reduce pressure points and ease aches. The high sides keep them cosy while the dropped front makes access easier for pets with reduced mobility. Suitable for small, medium and large pets, the durable outer fabric stands up to scratching and everyday wear.
The non-slip backing stops the bed sliding across floors when they climb in or adjust position, which helps anxious pets feel secure. The wipe-clean base tackles muddy paws and spills between deeper cleans. High sides create a sheltered sleeping spot without blocking their view of the room. The removable cover freshens up easily, and the internal pad lifts out for quick maintenance between uses.

Good quality and easy to clean
This is the second pet bed I have bought. My older dog loves hers and my young dog started sleeping in it and so I bought one for her. The only difference is the faux fur lining but my young dog loves it.

My cat sleeps in it all day!
Bought for my senior cat who usually won’t use cat beds, however with this being orthopaedic and him starting to get a bit stiff with his joints, I thought I’d give it a go. Well, he absolutely loves it! Would highly recommend, especially for older pets.

Elderly cat loves it
My mums elderly arthritic cat didn't seem to be able to lie comfortably anymore so I bought her this and she took to it straight away. She can use the edge to prop up her head as well

Good Bed but Too Firm
I can only give this three stars as my dog has a choice of three beds and this one always comes last. I bought it to replace one and have been trying to tempt her to use it. Sadly, she prefers her softer beds, despite being old and arthritic. I think she finds it too hard. However, I will keep it because 'maybe one day'……..

Comfortable pet bed
When I unpacked this, my cat was more interested in sitting on the packaging than the bed. But I put some of her blankets inside and she spent her first night sleeping on it. She was quite wary at first, I probably should have washed it before first use. It's a bit tricky to get the side panels stuffed into the cover.

Super orthopaedic dog bed good to wash and good for my elderly Labrador

Great bed for old bones!
A great bed for my 17 year old Jack Russell who has weary old bones. He looks very comfortable in it. However, breaking the habit of his lifetime of getting up onto the sofa is proving difficult to do 😊 It was a bit of a job to get the bolster into the pocket, but once in, it’s fine. When he’s in the bed, he uses the sides as a pillow.

Pointless waste of money.
Not as good as the brand name suggests. My dog likes to scratch before he settles (like most dogs) He ripped through the black cushion surface in 24hrs. Pointless waste of money.

Bed to firm as mattress too thin
Bed bought for our 18 month Labrador who has Bilateral Hip Dysplasia, hoping in would support him better! After the battle to get the filling into the cover and letting it “ inflate” the mattress area seems very firm, in fact far too firm as the foam is very thin. Bob has had the bed a couple of weeks now and he’s still not convinced, he still seems to prefer his plastic bed with a cheap foam pad and quilt or his much cheaper Charcoal Polyester filled fluffy pillow mattress from a well known pet store! I know from experience myself that very firm mattresses can cause pain, I think this may be the problem, just not enough foam on the base, perhaps more suitable for much lighter dogs as the mattress seems to be the same thickness on all the beds, but obviously a dog using a large bed in much heavier than a dog using the small size, Bob is far from huge, he’s 27kilo. Personally from Bobs opinion over the last few weeks I don’t think he recommends it, so neither do I. Sorry Silentnight, I expected better from the “Bed Experts”

Pet bed
My dog absolutely adores this bed, I got it slightly too small for him, he's a greyhound, but I think he likes the comfort it gives him. It's really well made and a good purchase.

Hello Lucy,
The supplier has advised the following for the Silentnight Orthopedic Pet Bed - Large:
The packaged size of this is Length 92cm x Width 92cm x Depth 16cm approximately. It does come partially vacuum packed but it's not done very tightly. It's done just enough to keep the item folded over for transit.
I hope this helps.

Good morning,
This is completely dependent on the size of your dog as all dog sizes are different even within the same breed. The size of the pet bed is given so you can make this decision yourself.

Good morning,
The only part of this product that is removable is the memory foam slab inside the zipped cover however without this there is no substance to the pet bed and a dog would then be touching the floor. The zipped cover is removable for washing purposes only.
Kind regards,
