Great e-reader
Great e-reader and I love the fact that it has an overdrive function so I can borrow library books. Was disappointed to find out that this vanishes if you're in a country where overdrive is not compatible but I'll know to download more books before I travel next time! I bought the colour as it was in special offer for the same price as the B&W but not sure it would be worth the extra money.

Finally, My Books Have Fashion Sense
I bought the Kobo Clara Colour thinking, “It’s just an e-reader with colour.” Reader, I was wrong. This little genius has turned my reading life from “respectable paperback energy” into “main character with a curated aesthetic.” The colour screen makes book covers pop, graphic novels look glorious, and my highlights now come in actual colours — because apparently even my thoughts deserve coordination. It’s lightweight enough to hold one-handed (tea in the other hand, obviously), waterproof enough to survive my dramatic bath reading sessions, and easy on the eyes at night. No glare, no distractions, no notifications asking if I’ve “seen this reel.” Just me and my ever-growing TBR pile. Yes, the colour layer makes the screen slightly softer than black-and-white models — but honestly? Worth it. My library has never looked this good.

Glad I got this instead of a kindle
Never thought I’d make the switch from physical books but bought for my holiday and glad I did. Battery life is incredible, pages very easy to read, comfortable to hold, easy to customise and take notes while reading (sometimes though you end up highlighting when trying to look up a word). Waterproofing gives Peace of mind. Colours appear a little washed out but this is a minor gripe. Very lightweight and easy to use. Book store is fine - could be better - but the device is saved by being Libby friendly and allowing you to install your own ebooks

Lightweight, nice features, local library access.
I bought this a while ago, primarily to access digital books from my local library as my Kindle doesn't allow it. I read a lot so I'm very pleased to now have three methods of accessing books from the Amazon library, the Kobo library and now free books from my local library as well. The Kobo is much lighter than my old Kindle and has some useful additional features, especially the automatic brightness and background hue adjustment for night time reading. I paid a bit extra for the colour version which, in retrospect, isn't necessary, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. No regrets, I'm pleased with my Kobo.

The Kobo Clara Colour is very much like the Kindle Paperwhite in that you can read comfortably anywhere, day or night, without struggling to see the screen.
Kobo Clara Colour uses E Ink Kaleido 3, which supports colour e-ink while still maintaining the paper-like readability of traditional e-ink screens. It includes ComfortLight PRO, which adjusts brightness and colour temperature to reduce eye strain, especially in low light.
The device are equipped with front lighting that allows you to read in the dark without external light and non-glare e-ink screen.

“ The Kobo Clara Colour e-reader does not natively support Google Play Books or direct integration with Google Drive, meaning you can't directly access or download books from Google Play Books on the device. You can sideload books to the Clara Colour by plugging it into a computer via USB-C and dragging and dropping files, but you'll need to ensure the files are in a supported format, such as EPUB. ”

After contacting our suppliers they have advised for Kobo Clara Colour 16GB Wi-Fi E-Reader - Black.
As it is a colour screen we do not believe you can reverse the background to white text-on-black background. However, it does have a brightness option that can be reduced when in low-light conditions, like reading at night etc.

I can confirm that the Kobo Clara Colour 16GB Wi-Fi E-Reader can support some Libby ebooks using the built in Overdrive feature. However, not all books are compatible with Kobo and audiobooks and magazines are not supported.
