I just love it
I am dyslexic, therefore I struggle to read physical books, I was a voracious reader before starting uni using Apple Books but had to stop to focus on my studies since finishing (4 years later) I’ve tried to read on my phone and iPad and just find I get so distracted so easily on social media, this was a brilliant way to actually keep me in the book and I’ve already seen an improvement on my reading skills and speed, hopefully I’ll get back to the level I was pre-university. Is extremely easy to upload your books but also to purchase them on the kobo themselves. It has a wide range of fonts and coloured backgrounds to help those who like me suffer with irlen syndrome (common in neurodivergent conditions). The covers are beautiful and it tells you how long you have left of the book as well as the percentage you read, you can also opt for page numbers. It’s great for reading manga, I haven’t personally downloaded any graphic novels, but I’m sure the same applies. All round a great purchase and a great piece of kit. I would definitely rate it over the Kindle/the new Apple Books app because it gives you a lot more freedom and doesn’t bombard you with ads/recommendations which I love because I do not want book suggested to me personally I just want to see my books!!

Huge fan
My only issue with this reader is that the screen is pretty grey, but certainly not a dealbreaker. Decent price, lovely colours, nice display, great range of light tones.

Not for me
I had a Kobo Clara HD that died so I needed to replace it. The Clara Colour was on sale at the same price as the Clara BW so I thought I’ll give it a go as it would be nice to have the colour. I hated it. The colour overlay seems pixelated and not smooth and hurt my eyes. I returned it and got the Clara BW at the normal (same) price. The screen is so much better.

Made from recycled plastic, the box it came it was all card and paper (no plastic). Really light to hold, good battery life and my first book purchase was cheaper than Amazon. Canadian parent company too.. what’s not to like.
