This retractable reel gives you 15m of drying space that appears when you need it and tucks away neatly when you don't. It's ideal for gardens, patios or balconies where space is tight, and it holds up to 15kg of washing so you can hang a full load without any worries. The Sure Grip line lock keeps the line taut and stable, and when you're done the line retracts smoothly for compact storage.
The extra strong PVC line has a thick nylon core that stops it from sagging over time, so your clothes hang properly and dry faster. The pivoting bracket lets the reel fold flat against the wall when you're not using it, or you can detach it completely and store it indoors. Not as Heavy Duty as Described
considering this is labelled heavy duty it is no better than the previous make for £3 more, advantage with this one is you cab put it away in the winter.

retracting mechanism a bit reluctant sometimes.
Just bought it and mounted it on my wall. Haven't hung any clothes on it yet, but pulled it completely out a couple of times to test the retraction, and it's ok, but a bit hesitant near the end as the reel gets full inside the mechanism. It is about 15 metres long, as described. An 8 mm drill bit is required if drilling into brick or masonry and using the plugs. The two screws secure the bracket well, even though countersunk screws are supplied but the bracket is not countersunk (why)? The whole reel can easily be removed from the bracket by taking out the locator pin so you can store it inside when not in use.I would recommend that you leave the pin in place after removing the reel, because if you lose it, the whole thing would be useless without it. As for the taughtness of the line, it's possilbe to make it very taught by wrapping round the retaining thing underneath; it might take a bit of practice to get it right. Apart from the bracket it's all plastic so should not corrode.

It has a good capacity and is easy to pull out and put back. It seems good quality and looks like it will last well. I have found that when pulled out, if you don't wind the line round the tension knob underneath the grey unit, you do need to use a line prop.
