About this product
Our Brooklyn high sleeper bed is made from solid pine, with chunky top rails and a sturdy frame. There's a fixed ladder for easy access which can be placed at either end of the bed so you can make sure it suits the layout of your room. It has safe, high sides and a classic look that'll suit them for years. High sleepers are perfect for smaller rooms, so you can reclaim the space underneath for a desk, drawers, or maybe a den!

Nice solid pine
For anyone thinking of buying this bed, the materials are much better quality than I expected for the price. No cheap MDF or fibre board but nice solid pine painted white. The instructions look complicated at first but a step-by-step approach sees the bed built easily and I also managed to build it on my own. It creaks a little when first built but just allow the wood/bed to dry out for a couple of weeks and re-tighten the joints and it`s much better. Only negatives were, the supplied Allen Key is a but useless and, although white cover caps are supplied, these are not for the metal fittings, only to cover the unused holes. That said, I managed to buy these on E-Bay for a few pounds and anyway, you may wish to leave the metal fittings showing I suppose, it`s just personal choice. Otherwise, a good product.

Could be better. Question marks over longevity
The bed is ok, but no more than that. Bit of a challenge to build in a small room. None of the parts are marked so it's guess work. It's quite squeaky when it's built too so the bolts have to be very tight. The main issue we had is with the steps. They are straight up and down so climbing them is very tough and coming down even tougher, but the biggest issue was that the steps we had were warped so they essentially were at a negative angle which meant the bed keeps moving when you climb it. We have had to order replacement steps as even with the bed screwed to the wall it's not very safe. Paint quality is a little iffy in place too. My 13 year old son does like it though but he says the steps are difficult to use.

Hi Sandra C,
Thanks for your query about the Brooklyn High Sleeper Bed Frame - Grey.
No, this is designed to be built in the configuration shown only. The supports are supposed to go where they are as it is part of the items structure and affects the stability and strength. You are free to choose which side to put the ladder on but, otherwise, the rest of the bed must be built as shown.
