Customers Say
Google TV Streamer 4K offers fast, easy navigation, excellent 4K picture and sound quality, and seamless Google ecosystem integration. It outperforms Firestick and older Chromecasts but lacks BBC iPlayer and has some ad clutter.

Google ecosystem and s really smooth to navigate
It takes a bit to set up. Once you’re in, the Google tv ecosystem is easy to navigate and the box feels super responsive. I would love if the box had a usb connection for a keyboard and mouse but the microphone search does work really well.

So happy I bought this set top box, so much better and easier than my fire stick, still learning about it, but so much easier to navigate

Quality product.
I bought this device several weeks ago a little sceptical at the price compared with other streaming devices. Having given it regular use since purchase I am delighted with the improved quality of sound & picture we are now receiving. Well worth the investment.

Works flawlessly
Bought to replace my firestick and I must admit I wish I'd done it much sooner, the interface is great, it's quick, the remote works perfectly and its so easy to set it up.

Great bit of kit
Excellent bit of kit. I have one already in the lounge, this one for the bedroom. It's much better than a Firestick as it doesn't constantly promote Prime content all the time. Slightly more expensive, but full 4K and surround sound where it's provided and can use ethernet or wifi. Fit's in perfectly with my home systems.

Great Performance - A Bit Held Back by Adverts
Bought this a few weeks ago to try out something with AV1 Decoding support, which it thankfully does. Everything I've thrown at it has felt snappy and it hasn't really had any lag at all, a massive improvement over the usual lag you'd get with something like a Fire Stick or even Google's Chromecasts (Google TV Models). Whilst it does output in 4K with support for Dolby Vision, I don't have a Dolby Vision display to test this with. On first setup, you'll get prompted to select a range of apps to be automatically installed, this is nice, until about 30 mins to an hour later, you realise that it's now harrassing you with notifications telling you that there are some more apps that are "included with your device", you click it and surprise! All of the apps you told it you didn't want are now going to be installed anyways (you can thankfully uninstall them AFTER they've all re-installed). The default home screen is abysmal, around 80% of the screen is taken up with advertisements and they claim this is customisable, it is barely customisable since the ads, aren't removable and are always in the way. If you get this, expect to spend your first hour to be repeatedly uninstalling apps you don't want over and over as it'll automatically reinstall them 2-3 times. If you buy one, install Projectivy, it replaces the default homescreen with one that is basically infinitely customisable with no adverts, just the apps you want to see on it, I'd recommend also installing an app called "Button Mapper", this will let you replace the Netflix & YouTube buttons on the remote with whatever you want it to do, like opening a different app of your choice instead. Full ethernet support is amazing, for devices that your gonna have plugged in all the time, in my opinion, you should absolutely use ethernet if possible, the amount of times I've had streaming problems due to Wi-Fi is insane, but the Wi-Fi built-in to the unit is definitely not bad, and more than capable of streaming anything you'd need it to. It has hardware decoding for most formats, meaning if you use Jellyfin or Plex, you won't have to worry too much about transcoding your media.
