About this product
The Habitat Axel Trundle Day Bed gives you flexible sleeping space that adapts when friends or family come to stay. It's a smart setup for spare rooms or studios where you need furniture that works harder. There's a pull-out second bed underneath the main frame, so you can accommodate two guests without taking up extra floor space during the day. Two medium-feel mattresses are included, each with 323 springs for proper support. A pull-out storage drawer keeps spare bedding, pillows or seasonal bits tucked away and ready when you need them.
The frame is made from solid pine with a painted white finish that wipes clean and suits most bedroom styles. Wooden slats come supplied, so the mattresses have proper ventilation and support. The trundle bed pulls out smoothly and tucks back under when not in use. Each sleeping surface supports up to 110kg safely. It arrives flat-packed with clear instructions, and you'll want two people for assembly to make it straightforward. There's a two-year frame guarantee from the manufacturer.

Solid guest bed, but mind the mattress height!
The build quality is solid and assembly was mostly easy, though the slats were a bit fiddly. A big tip for others: if you plan to use this as a daybed for sitting, be very picky with your mattresses. If they are too thick, stacking them makes the seat much too high and creates a 'bouncy,' unstable feel. I’d recommend thinner, firmer mattresses if you want it to double as a sofa. Also, build it exactly where you want it—it’s not easy to move once it's up!

Great bed.
Love this bed. Will take two to build as it is quite heavy but really easy to put together. Looks lovely in the room. Nice guest bed.

Day Bed with two mattress
I brought this a month ago.. It would have been easier to have hole already to fix the wooden slats. The bed can be made into a double bed using the extra mattress. While using as a single bed you need to store the other mattress elsewhere. We try one mattress on the other but wasn't safe. Love the storage drawer underneath for bedding etc.

Sadly this unit is not for purpose.
It’s broken on its first useage . It creaked and the user felt it was giving way .

I have had this 2 weeks. Has already started to break had to contact customer services. Lovely bed asestically but how long it took to put together was absolutely ridiculous.

Once built feels sturdy and look good
The first box arrived damaged, however no problem and a replacement was organised with out trouble. You do need to take care when assembling and follow the instruction, if it says 73mm gap, it means 73mm. But any one who has assembled things before should have no issues. This replaces a old spare double bed so it great to get some room back and still have a comfortable, useable bed for guest when required, and sofa when not.
