Heavy base but a bit scratched
This is a heavy base suitable for our 3m parasol. However it was a bit scratched when I got it home - wasn't worth driving all the way back. Also there are no pads on the bottom to protect the underside from being scraped when being loved around on the paving - this is something I would expect from something this price.

Not fit for purpose
I bought this with a 2m parasol. Firstly it is really poor quality, the paint has dripped and collected in certain points on the exterior and is generally a low quality all over. It looks like what a cheap pub would have. Then the mechanism for keeping the parasol in place (the screw) only serves to scratch the parasol and the rubber insert constantly pops out. Finally the actual purpose of the base, to stop the parasol falling, one minor gust, collapsed the whole thing. Avoid this completely, £50 is extortionate

Disappointing
Not worth the price paid, looks very cheap compared to the picture online and not very heavy either so my parasol blows over in the wind. Pretty sure a cheaper one would do a better job.

What quality control
I brought one of these years ago it lasted a long time, but it succumb to the elements in the end, so I brought a new one exactly the same, but not the same the quality and finish is horrendous doesn’t seem to be any quality control. I would put photos in but I can’t be bothered.

Hi it comes in 2 parts in a flat box but is heavy as solid cast iron. The inside has plastic cuffs for different size parasols. Nice sturdy base .

Yes the Argos Home Cast Iron Parasol Base can be used with a parasol pole measuring 4cm. It can be used with a parasol pole with the width of up to 4.5cm.

The assembled height of this base is 34cm NOT 30cms. I know I bought one based on the above answer and had to return it as it would not go under my garden table.

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know they say it is 4cm from the top to the top of screw, and total diameter including the screw is 7cm

I can confirm the base is raised slightly, approx 6cm, and any bolts underneath wont touch the floor.

There is one bolt but the base is convexed so domed . The area that touched the floor is only the square edges
