It's a great TV but not for Black dark night time
I really love this TV for its smart capabilities — having Google built-in makes it super convenient. Apps run smoothly, sideloading is a breeze, and overall it's a fantastic experience for streaming and everyday use. However, when it comes to watching movies or shows with very dark scenes, the panel really shows its limitations. A good example is the last couple of episodes of The Last of Us, especially the nighttime boat scenes. Instead of deep blacks, the screen shows noticeable SMD backlight bleed from both the left and right edges, which ends up white-washing the darkness and turning it into a murky grey. It breaks the immersion a bit during those intense, low-light moments. That said, for everything else apps, responsiveness, and smart features, I genuinely love this TV. Just don’t expect OLED-level black performance.

I was looking at other TVs but decided to go for this one, and the Android/Google TV system was definitely the win. The TCL 55P8K-UK has excellent picture quality, and the 144Hz refresh rate makes gaming super smooth. It’s lightweight, doesn’t heat up much, and the built-in Onkyo subwoofer gives surprisingly good sound. The “Hey Google” feature works from both the TV’s built-in mic and the remote mic, which is really handy. The remote buttons feel great — responsive and comfortable. Overall, fantastic value for the price
