This Black and Decker corded rebating planer is capble of cuts 82mm wide and a planing depth of 0-2mm adjusted in 0.1mm increments with the graduated depth selector. With the dust extraction port and included dust bag, your work area can be kept tidy. The built in V-groove on the base allows for control while chamfering edges. The inlcuded hex key can be used to simply rotate the blades when they show any signs of wear.

Easy to navigate
Usually I don’t take on any DIY project but I thought I’d give planing a door that was ready to be attached to a room in our house. I found the planer itself, quite comfortable to hold, initially, After a while the vibrations did make my hand ache a little. I really liked the bag to collect all the dust and shavings so I didn’t have extra mess to clean up.

High quality from Black & Decker
Heavy duty planer, designed for planing wood and even plastics - would be great for any type of garden fences. The planer has a decent weight to it, and the build quality as expected from Black & Decker. It comes with a dust collection bag that attaches to the planer so prevents debris going everywhere - the bag also has a zip for easy emptying. The depth of the cut is as small as 2mm so can remove more with a single cut and the blades are very durable and look like they will stand the test of time. The handle on the planer allow for a firm grip for safety. Ideal for any DIY enthusiasts - both professionals and amateurs.

Works well
Well packaged clear labelling on the box. Instructions are part pictorial with numbers and part words but it wasn’t clear until reading on the book the two pieces of information were linked. The machine is quite heavy at 2.4kg made it useful when using it on straight forward surfaces but anything at an angle made it quite combersome. The planes depth adjustment worked well enabling me to take less material off as l worked the wood too a finish. It is quite noisy when in use after prolonged use l felt the need for ear protectors. The spanner provided fitted the nuts that held the cutter in place fit well but it’s only a pressed tool so l imagine using it on a more stubborn older nut would be a less affective. The power cord is a good length enabling we to work the wood without hinderence. The colour makes it easy to locate and makes you more aware of its position when working around it. The handle has a subtle-grip but l felt another way of holding the tool flat would have been useful, 2 hands on the tool would be better.

Great and easy to use
Really great product. A job I have been putting off for ages was a lot easier with this, it worked really well. Comes with instructions that are easy to follow and the job was over in a flash. Would recommend. Great size as well.

Great planer for DIY jobs
First thing you notice about this planer is how sturdy it is. Solid and well designed making it so easy to use. Soft grip handle with easily adjustable blade depth. Love the fact it has a detachable dust bag and reversible blades. Ideal for trimming doors or skirting boards. Every well equipped DIYer should have this in their tool bag.

smooth like a hot knife through butter
The Black + Decker 710w planer is nice and compact as well as not too heavy, yet it is poweful enough to slice through wood with ease. I used the planer to strip paint off some lumbar, and the result was very smooth and clean. The cable is a good length at just over 2 metres long, and the depth adjuster knob has a nice click. There is only 1 speed setting and the planing depth can be adjusted by 0.1mm at a time upto 2mm, which I found precise. The zipped dust collecter bag is a must, and it collected 98% of the wood with some small particles flying around, which is impressive. The dust bag did arrive a little frayed, so lets see how long it lasts. Very easy to use straight out of the box. I will be taking some doors up soon too, and I'm sure it will be a breeze.
