Worthwhile upgrade for an old TV
Bought as an "upgrade" to existing Smart TV functionality on an older Sony TV, and it's been worth every penny. Due to the age of my TV a few applications/streaming apps weren't optimized to work directly with that TV, the Fire TV Stick has made this process a lot more fluid and has meant that I can open any app I need directly. Though my TV is only FHD so may not extract all the benefits of the 4K Max, I feel as if I've future proofed any TV upgrades in the future thanks to the functionality that this device provides. In terms of functionality, after a quick set up, the main benefit is the lack of lag when scrolling, additionally setting up non-Amazon apps like Netflix was super simple. The remote integrates with my TV's own system so haven't had to worry about turning off the stick with one remote and the TV off with another. However, one thing to be aware of is that the stick needs to be independently powered; though this was solved with an extension lead it may not fit everyone's preferences in terms of cable management, given the device can (in my experience) stick out the side of the TV for example. Finally, compared to other similar devices the price can't really be beat if compared to offerings from Google.
