Disappointing even for cheap rubbish
Bought this half price for a prank, knowing it was cheap and probably lacking. I was still disappointed. Sounds hollow and tinny, No real bass level to speak of, and the speaker shuts off during breaks so if theres a beat of silence in a song, the start of the next line wont be audible - tried listening to an audiobook to see how bad it was, the start of any new sentence was missing, abysmal experience. We use it to listen to tunes now while in the shower in the hope that steam/condensation kills it.

No, it needs to be connected to some type of external device, e.g. iPod, iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth or by connecting the AUX port to an external device.
In terms of playing music that is on a USB memory stick, it might be possible to connect that stick to the external device and then the device to this speaker (depending on the device and set up you have).

I can advise that this speaker has a "3.5mm AUX in" meaning if your Walkman can connect via that, it will work. It also connects via Bluetooth with compatible devices.
