About this product

A complete music system, R2 is equipped with DAB/DAB+, FM and internet tuners with pre-sets, and directly supports major streaming services including Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer, and with a quality Bluetooth receiver every other streaming service available. The Bluetooth function also seamlessly integrates with the volume function on phones and tablets, so volume can be easily raised or reduced as desired. R2 also features a USB-C charge and playback port, switchable auxiliary line input and headphone output.

Ruark R2 Prize
As you can see I was fortunate enough to win my radio. It's a tremendous piece of kit. I recommend the addition of a remote control which has made it so much easier to use I have particularly enjoyed listening to Classic FM and Sport. My friends are very envious of my radio.

Good Looks and Sound, Annoying TFT Display
The TFT Display is clear but very small. The rolling information about radio shows and/or music composers and titles jumps back to the beginning before reaching the end of the information. This is very annoying, particularly in relation to classical music. I hope this can be rectified by a software update?

Exceptional radio and service
I eventually plumped for the Ruark R2 after purchasing and returning a Roberts radio due to its poor performance. The Ruark has not disappointed, a great radio and good price for a so call graded product. I certainly could not see any difference from new. Thanks from a very satisfied customer. Might even get one fir the bedroom. One slight niggle, would be nice to include a remote, which I bought subsequently.

Room filling sound
It sits in the corner of the kitchen, an upgrade to my previous Mk3, with a small footprint, that's where I have the opportunity to listen whilst mellowing. The Bluetooth experience is much improved over the years too. I like the pastel green colour, but it's the sound quality that really shines..

Bought R2 mk4. Very good sound, very pleased. Apple Music support would be the only improvement but I knew that wasn't supported when I purchased. đź‘Ť

Fabulous sound and build quality
I bought a graded product from the Ruark shop very recently and wanted to note here the pure quality of product both from delivery point to set up and lush sound. Don’t be put off buying a graded product- I have yet to find any flaws in my expresso R2 and it’s mint, I knew Ruark were good having owned the R1 mark 3 and using it daily for many years in our kitchen- that is a wonderful product and all of the same and more is true of the latest R2. We have a fairly large living space of approx 16 x 16 with high ceilings and this thing fills the space with wonderfully wide and warm sound. It has that unmistakeable Ruark sound signature but where it Excels over the already great R1 is in the soundstage it projects with great dynamics and instrument separation - surprising given the size and closeness of its 2 NS+ drivers - hugely impressive! Being a bit of a hifi nerd and loving my separates and Dali floor standing speakers system I can honestly say this little gem punches way above its weight and is true high fidelity - a great second system if you already have a main set up but brill on its own if you didn’t want to bother with all those wires and boxes! I’d recommend having bass at +4, treble at +6 amd with 3D processor on but the loudness feature off for music listening and on again for talk radio stations or for lower volume level listening. Only gripe is the Oktiv app can be a little sticky at times and Amazon music loading a bit hit n miss bit that maybe the integration on Amazon’s side. As a Tidal user do Ruark have any plans to integrate Tidal into a software upgrade for the R2 at sone point? That would make it even more impressive but regardless it’s a tremendous product and am a happy customer.
