R1S grabs attention with its flawless look and sound. With tactile curves, exclusive Mid Grey finish and Composite wood hand-crafted grille, R1S exudes fresh contemporary design. The grille material is created from sustainable woods, which are carefully spliced, coloured, and recomposed to closely mimic the rich tones of slow growing hardwoods, without the ecological impact. The cabinet and grille blend perfectly with the trademark RotoDial controller and new colour display, to create a feel that encapsulates the technical capabilities of R1S.
R1S takes this timeless medium to a new level, but with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also built in, R1S is more than just a radio, but more so a complete music system that's small enough to fit easily into your home, but capable enough to provide day long entertainment.
With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming also built in the appeal of R1S is further enhanced. R1S directly supports Spotify Connect*, Amazon Music and Deezer and with its Bluetooth 5 receiver virtually every other service available. The Bluetooth function remembers up to six devices and provides excellent sound quality and efficiency, meaning minimal battery drain on battery powered devices.

Good, but could be better
I now have 3 Ruark models R1 & R2 (as well as a few other 'smart' radios). I love the sound, looks & quality Ruark offers, but would ideally like single buttons for channel changing (4-6 buttons max). The dial & function buttons are simple and reliable, but to have to press a button, turn the dial and press another button, particularly in a dark room, seems too complex when simpler solutions have been available for years! P.S. Please bring back the battery pack...

Just lovely!
We had our old radio where the CD would not close and the antenna was broken (it was that old)! Xmas was coming so it felt like right time to get a new radio. I purchased the R1S. It's just amazing! The look, the simplicity and the sound quality are superb! Highly recommend!

My Ruark radio from Voix CZ
R15, my darling has been bought for christmas present. It very nice and fit it to my kitchen very well. I and my family are suprise for excelent sound and fuctions Also I have bought remote control for it. It is very nice and smal but range is not so good and must be tended directly to radio. I appreciate more smarter for premium brand like this for this price

Excellent sound and great value
Really pleased with our recent purchase. The sound quality is outstanding given the compact size. The functionality and styling are also impressive. We chose Ruark because they are a local company who pride themselves in the quality of their design. Although they currently outsource the manufacturing for most of their products overseas, they are striving to bring that back to the UK with their Made in England (MiE) initiative, which is to be applauded. I would thoroughly recommend this product.

Exactly what I was looking for.
Small enough to be unobtrusive in the bedroom, with excellent sound and good use ability. I love the timer feature, but in the current firmware version cuts the sound off abruptly, the last one did it gradually. Pls bring back a gradual reduction of volume when timing out.

I had a Bose Wave Radio for many years that sadly failed. I bought a new Pure Moment. It lasted 6 months and started to lose stations along with its settings. A Lumie Bodyclock replaced this but was sent back the next day because I had to wack the glass top to see the clock in the night and to snooze the alarm. By accident I stumbled upon Ruark and I love it. Its looks, sound quality and functionality just make it a great replacement for my Bose. I will certainly expand in time and will look at other products in the range…. Well done Ruark Audio 👌👍👏

Saving channels do not work
Unfortunately I had to return the radio to Globus. Reason: Saving DAB channels in proper sequence was not possible, i. e. I could save under 1, 2. and 4 but not the others. Meanwhile I bought another R1 Smart Radio from a shop nearby. This one works and I am satisfied. Epecially the sound is perfect, reason I bought another Ruark.

Listen to the world on a fabulous piece of kit
R1S Smart Radio is very impressive with wonderful sound quality and intuitive controls. I particularly enjoy internet radio feature and this gives you a much wider choice of stations also genre. I do feel however Oktiv app is overly complex and user guide is not detailed enough to help set up with R1S Smart Radio though presume the remote control for device may be easier to use albeit more limited functionality perhaps. The radio is modern and would look good in any household setting.
