The Ruark R1S is a DAB, DAB and FM radio and Wi-Fi-connected music system, bringing your favourite stations and streaming services into one beautifully designed unit that fits on a shelf or bedside table. With built-in Wi-Fi, you get direct access to Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer, while Bluetooth 5 opens every other streaming option from your mobile. The LCD display keeps things clear, and the RotoDial controller gives tactile control over your music. Whether waking to Radio 6 Music or winding down with a podcast, the 8 preset stations keep your go-to content a button press away.
The 9 watts RMS output delivers clear, room-filling sound with bass and treble controls so you can dial in the tone you prefer. Bluetooth remembers up to 6 devices, so switching between your phone and your partner's is seamless, and the AUX input handles anything with a headphone jack. There's a USB port for external connections, a headphone socket for private listening, and alarm and sleep timer functions if you want it on bedside duty. It's compact enough to sit neatly on a worktop or table, runs on mains power, and comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.
R1S takes this timeless medium to a new level, but with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also built in, R1S is more than just a radio, but more so a complete music system that's small enough to fit easily into your home, but capable enough to provide day long entertainment.

lovely sound and easy to set up
I bought this from the graded products option. It was in perfect condition and fully boxed. Set up was quick and easy and wifi connects to a number of internet music stations I listen to on my Ruark R610. I like the design and the screen is clear and easy to read. It has a lovely natural sound and great range of options for different radio sources. I use it as a bedside device and the clock is clear at night but to bright. I love it.

Very polished and premium radio
I bought this radio recently after reading excellent reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. It looks and sound premium and is very easy to operate. I use mine as a bedroom radio and love to listen to my favourite American and Australian stations. I can also play my favourite smooth relaxing music from my phone through Bluetooth and dose off to sleep listening to it. It has an excellent sleep timer and easy to operate alarm and I am delighted with it. It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for and I would recommend it.

Happy Days!
I wanted a new clock/radio. I tried 5 but they were abominable. I like to listen to BBC local radio which is not available on DAB and Internet radio was out because my bedroom is upstairs and my router is downstairs. So I needed a good FM receiver. I thought that a proper radio would do the trick so I got the R1S. Set up was very easy, real buttons leading to logical menus, how very quaint. In my bedroom the FM reception was very good, but, what's this, I can get Internet radio without a Wifi extender, must be another great Ruark component. So every morning I am awakened by a crisp display and glorious music making the start of every day feel really happy.

The best small radio I've ever heard
I replaced a Pure Evoke DAB radio with the R1S and the difference between the two is night and day. The sound that comes out of this small speaker is incredible and it's making every radio station sound so much better. DAB sounds fantastic and the ability to add online radio station presets is also very welcome.
